Originally it was used in perfumery and successfully continued to be used to make perfume until now. The first information about the use of bergamot refers to the 17th century. Initially, it performed the function of antiseptic, as it helps with inflammation and skin infections. At wounds the fetus was cut into 2 parts and applied to the damaged site.

The main ingredient for making a multitude of balsams was also bergamot. Tea with essential oils of this fruit began to be used much later. Thanks to its medicinal properties and aroma, it immediately fell to the taste of many tea lovers.
