Svetlana Ulasevich. About the heroes of not my novel

Svetlana Ulasevich did not write many books, but she is already well known to many lovers of a love-fiction novel. It is recommended for easy reading in the evening by the fireplace, as a way to dispel the sadness on long autumn evenings. But even among fans of the genre there are many those who do not seem worthy of Ulasevich's works.

Author about me

Svetlana was born according to one data 25, on the other - June 26, 1985. She lives in Minsk. The main profession is a chemist-researcher. There are pets - talking wavy parrots. Other information, especially about personal life, marital status, work, is not freely available. However, Svetlana Ulasevich is open for communication with readers, she willingly answers questions about her work: how to think up certain heroes, about working in a new direction, ideas and plans.

The author writes in two languages - Russian and Belarusian. From hobbies - cinema, theater, versatile music, swimming and reading.

Svetlana Ulasevich: books

  1. Trilogy "The Saga of the Dragons". A series of humorous love-fantasy novels.
  2. "You". A short mystical love story.
  3. "The price of the empire." A collection of short stories in collaboration with A. Glushanovsky.
  4. The writer has many unpublished stories, miniatures, essays and poems.

"The dragon saga" appeared in paper form thanks to the publishing house "Alpha-book" - the works were printed from 2009 to 2014, as each part was written.

The "price of the empire" was also published in 2014.

In February-March 2017, the re-issue of the trilogy with a single volume titled "Do not Wake the Sleeper Dragon" is expected. The text will be redesigned.

Work in co-authorship

The book "The Price of the Empire" was written together with Alexey Glushanovsky (the most famous work is the tetralogy "Path of the Demon"). This is a series of stories and stories, which the authors wrote independently, but there are several collaborative works. It must be said that they expected a lot from the tandem, especially from Glushanovsky - he seemed to many readers a more mature and experienced writer.

As a result, it turned out to be very average, corrected for the level of both authors, but in general, many believe that Svetlana Ulasevich coped much better. Maybe because they did not show excessive demands to it?

Stories and stories are versatile in style, and they are difficult to classify into one genre, but they are united by a common idea - the opposition of different beginnings. In general, they are quite worthy to read, although they turned out somewhat gloomy.

Read or not read?

The question is controversial. Svetlana Ulasevich tried to make her works humorous and with a fascinating plot, as well as an obligatory love line. What was the result of this? We will analyze her most large-scale work - "The Dragon Saga". We will not retell the story, it's quite common for all books of this genre, and there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, the target audience, for which such things are calculated, can very negatively treat free deviations from the canons.

There is nothing wrong with a fair amount of humor: it significantly reduces the degree of "pink snot", which can bring the novel to a very sweet love story.

Many readers welcome and some mockery of the genre - the heroine is not an ideal beauty, but quite a standard girl with a cheerful disposition. And some books can not do without the sensory component - it gives the depth of the love line.

But that's exactly what you do not need to do, so to turn your characters into maniacs, obsessed with sex. Consciously or not, Svetlana Ulasevich has seriously missed here - you do not expect this from fantasy, but there is too little eroticism for a sensual love novel, and the genre is not the one claimed. For the sake of justice it is worth noting that in the book there are no too frank scenes - just the actions of the characters, their thoughts and dialogues revolve around sex, and it's frankly annoying.

Separately, I want to say about the main characters of the male sex - in books of this kind the author usually creates such a character that you want to fall in love with each reader, but this does not happen here. Idealized appearance, but unpleasant personality traits. In general, past.

The bottom line: books can not be called frankly bad - there is a good story, some idea, the logic of the narrative, so that the novel can captivate. But do not be too empathizing with the characters or looking for a hidden meaning, otherwise you can be very disappointed.
