Staplers construction - an alternative to the traditional hammer

Until recently, a lot of work on securing parts was done with a hammer and nails, until they were replaced by construction staplers, which immediately gained extraordinary popularity. Indeed, most operations are much more convenient, and most importantly - faster to execute this tool than a hammer. Usually staplers are designed to work with staples, but there are models capable of hammering and small nails. By the way, the use of staples increases the area of the material that is pressed against the object, so in some cases, their use is even more reliable (when attaching the vapor barrier to wooden structures, in furniture production, etc.), and therefore it is preferable to use a construction stapler. How to choose exactly what you need? First of all, it is necessary to find out what staplers are?

Types of construction staplers

  1. Pneumatic . The principle of operation of these instruments is based on the use of compressed air energy . They are characterized by a high rate of clogging, a large resource and do not require the application of considerable physical effort. As the centralized air supply from the compressor is desirable for the successful operation of these staplers, they are most often used in furniture production. The portable compressors available for sale are quite expensive, and therefore pneumatic staplers are used mainly by professionals.
  2. Electric . This stapler does not require any additional equipment. It is enough only to have an ordinary industrial network. Like their pneumatic brethren, electric construction staplers are a lot of fun, and therefore they are also used mainly by professionals.
  3. Mechanical . Due to its simplicity, it has become very widespread. A mechanical construction stapler is much cheaper than a pneumatic or electric stapler , but at the same time it is a fairly convenient device for carrying out a wide range of construction works. The main drawback is only that to push the trigger lever you have to apply considerable physical strength. Depending on the tasks performed, manual staplers have several main types:
  • Ordinary . For work it is enough to just put the stapler to the surface and press the trigger lever. Consumables can be flat staples and ordinary nails. Widely used in repair work in a variety of rooms.
  • Staple hammer . Working on the principle of the appropriate name of the tool, these construction staplers are used mainly where there is no need for greater accuracy of clogging, for example, when carrying out laying operations under the floor or a roofing felt on the roof.
  • Cable . As the name implies, they are used to lay cables when installing networks and communications.

Recommendations for using staplers

Usually work with a stapler does not cause difficulties, but there are some nuances:

  • Before pressing the trigger, it is necessary to squeeze the stapler as much as possible against the surface, and the pressing itself must be carried out abruptly and quickly. Otherwise, the bracket will not go completely into the material.
  • When choosing a stapler, it is necessary to pay attention to the shape of its handle. It should fit comfortably in your hand and do not cause any discomfort, because during further work you will have to withstand the impact force when you hit, which can be a real problem if you are uncomfortable.
  • When carrying out work with a stapler, you need to keep ticks on hand that can come in handy if the staple is not correctly or completely inserted into the material.
  • After performing all the operations, it is necessary to lay down the tool and secure the handle with a special bracket to prevent it from accidentally triggering.

It should be remembered that construction staplers are instruments of increased danger, so when choosing them, you must purchase models that have the function of protection against accidental operation, and strictly observe safety measures when carrying out work.
