Gymnastics missed the champion

Olga Aleksandrovna Brusnikina was born on November 9, 1978 in the capital of our Motherland - the city of Moscow, in a country that is no longer on the map - the USSR. The parents of the future champion, Alexander Alexeevich and Anna Mikhailovna Brusnikina wanted to take care of the health of their beloved daughter, and so they began to choose what kind of sport the child would be engaged in.

At first the choice fell on gymnastics, but Olya was not accepted, since her growth was not quite suitable for this sport. After some hesitation, we decided to consider water species. For the health of the child, this would be an excellent option. In 1985, my mother brought her daughter to the first training session.

Olena Vyacheslavovna Chumakova was engaged with Olya. Then no one even imagined that from a simple Moscow girl a girl would grow up, defending the country's honor in the international sports arena. Who knows what life would have been like if Olya had been taken to gymnastics then.

Shower of hope

Under the leadership of Elena Chumakova, Olga Brusnikina Olga trained for two years. Years of hard work were not in vain, as the girl at the age of 16 began to be regarded as a sportswoman with high expectations. In 1987, no one even suspected that soon everything would change. Special school and first achievements

Olga Brusnikina was trained in a specialized school for gifted children No. 1113. Necessary conditions played an important role in the formation of the athlete. Already at the age of 15 Olya was in favor of the Moscow "Dynamo". Then her main achievement was the championship at the Junior World Cup. In 1993, Olga won the competition, performing both solo and paired with Julia Pankratova.

Since that time Brusnikina Olga - a member not only of the youth team, but also an adult. The year for the girl was very successful. As part of the adult team Brusnikina wins the European Championship. And in 1995 the Russian team, with whom Olga spoke, repeated this success in the Austrian capital.

Only wins

A year after admission to RGAFK the sportswoman begins to perform with her idol of young years - Olga Sedakova. The co-worker in the free program also trained under the direction of Polyanskaya, she was known in international sports circles and enjoyed great authority. Somehow Brusnikina shared with journalists that she used to like watching how Sedakova trains.

Sedakova's experience and Brusnikina's potential had success in the form of gold at world competitions held in China. And also at the European Championships in Spain. Then there was a duel for someone who would solo. And here Olga bypasses her partner.

Luck accompanies the future, when Olga wins gold at world competitions, still speaking with Sedakova. Also wins in group exercises with Maria Kiseleva.

Olga Aleksandrovna Brusnikina became the champion of the Olympic Games twice:
