Apple Museum in Moscow: address and mode of operation

How often do technology companies selling consumer electronics become a cult? How often does the leader of such a company become an idol of millions? How often someone tries to perpetuate the history of such a company and dedicates exhibitions to it? Everything described above is true for the famous California corporation - Apple. The works of the company's engineers are so close to some people that they were exhibited in a private museum created by a collector enthusiast.

A bit of history

Modern iPhone and iPad users hardly know the history of the company and all the products that were created in the last 40 years. A similar situation was decided to fix a big fan of Apple Andrey Antonov and businessman Eugene Butman.

Andrei Antonov for 15 years collected a large collection of Apple products, created in the period from 1977 to 1998. This time period includes two significant events: the release of the first Mac computer and its restart after the return of Steve Jobs. The founders of the museum made it free to visit and organized a special area where you can try out the exposed computers. The historical and technological exhibition, an educational center and a tribute to the memory of the famous corporation - this is what the Apple Museum in Moscow is.

Exhibits

The private museum of Apple in Moscow owns an unprecedented collection of electronics, and a part of the exhibits fans will find for a real artifact. In the collection of Andrew there was a place for the legendary computer Apple II, all generations of peripherals (keyboard and mouse), graphic tablets, game consoles and other products produced by the company in the past. Apple II - this is the first full-fledged computer, which was created by the forces of Wozniak and Jobs. The computer became a product of Wozniak's engineering skills and Jobs's aesthetic taste. The museum exhibits other "machines" of the era, including variations on the theme of Apple II (Lisa and C).

Separate spare parts for computers and laptops, peripherals, keyboards - both built-in and external. A lot of manipulators, including mice and predecessors of trackpads - "trackballs." In the museum there was a place for the legendary Apple Pippin. Apple Pippin is a multimedia player with a CD-drive, designed to launch video games and running on a special version of Mac OS. Enthusiasts and big fans of the company will certainly recognize among the exhibits of the great-grandfather iPad - Apple Newton. It was the first graphic tablet and portable computer in the world, recognizing handwriting. Many people will find the appearance of Apple printers, as well as digital cameras, which, as it turned out, in Cupertino also did, seem unexpected.

Excursions and their cost

Initially, the museum was conceived as a free place to visit, worked only on weekends. After a while, the number of visitors increased dramatically, there were additional costs, and now a visit to the museum costs money. Visiting the museum can take place in two different modes. Either alone, or together with an excursion. An independent visit means a free movement around the museum, with the possibility to view any exhibits, to give everyone as much time as they want. Visiting with the excursion is distinguished by the presence of a person who will give a lecture, tell in detail about each exhibit, mention interesting facts related to a particular computer, demonstrate the devices in operation. Excursions are conducted only for pre-arranged groups of 15 people. The group is in the museum for about two hours. The tour itself takes no more than 45 minutes, the rest of the time visitors can freely take care of the Apple Museum in Moscow. Photo and video during the tour are allowed.

The cost of an individual ticket is:

  • 200 rubles for schoolchildren;
  • 300 rubles for students;
  • 350 rubles for adults.

Cost for groups:

  • The cost for a group of schoolchildren from 15 people - 300 rubles per person.
  • The cost for a group of students up to 15 people - 4500 rubles for the whole group.

"Game room for schoolchildren"

Among other things, the museum is equipped with a separate zone for those who want to independently test the working exhibits in action. The hall is visited by groups of students from 5 to 25 people. Visitors can launch various programs, play games on obsolete "machines", try out the periphery of former years. Full access to this amount of technology is provided only by the private Apple Museum in Moscow. Feedback from visitors confirm this fact. Schoolchildren are admitted to the hall only in the presence of accompanying persons.
