How to sew a hat on your own?

The fabric is manufactured using a special technology, there are threads in it that, on the inside, make the material softer. What materials are needed to make a fleece hood?

After preparing all the materials, you need to measure the circumference of the head. We divide this value by 4 and obtain the width dimension of one wedge. After this, you should find out the depth of the headgear. For this, the meter tape measures the distance from the forehead, through the vertex and to the occiput. The result is divided into two. This is one wedge, these details need 4 pieces.

For example: head circumference 50 cm, divide this value by 4 (the number of wedges). 50: 4 = 25 - width of the wedge.

The measurement from the forehead to the vertex was 46 cm, dividing it by 2 (front and back of the head). 46: 2 = 23 is the height of the cap.

To build a wedge, you need to draw a triangle, where the height of the triangle (23 cm) - this will be the height of the product, and the base of the triangle (25 cm) is the lower part of the wedge. The pieces from the base to the top should be rounded. By the same principle is covered with a cap with earflaps from fleece. The pattern is distinguished by the presence of a few additional details, but the base is the same.

The technology of tailoring fleece hats

A fleece hat can go on the lining or without it, depending on the season. The fabric does not start the shooter and does not crumble, so the inner edges can be left as it is. If the cap is without a lining, then for a neat appearance it is still better to process the seams on the overlock.

The pattern is applied to the fabric, and all 4 parts are cut out in one movement. They are stitched together. It is necessary to monitor the front and the underside of the material so as not to sew the face to the wrong side, otherwise it will be necessary to unpack and do all the work first.

You can first sew 2 parts and connect the resulting halves. Or alternately sew one to another for each detail.

Patterns of fleece hats Can be different. In this case, the cap can be made with a rim, which is then bent upwards. Or leave the hat as is, just tuck the bottom seam.

Sewing hats from flea fur hats

When sewing hats-earflaps, you need to make a lining. For beauty, you can choose a fleece of two colors. Such models, which allow closing the forehead, the occipital part and ears, are often used in the cold season. You can sew a fur hat with or without strings.

In this case, wedges are cut, as in the previous model, taking into account their measurements. Do not forget that the pattern to carry on the fabric should be with a margin of 0.5 cm seams. You can find ready-made patterns of fleece hats in magazines by sewing. For the hat-earflaps still need to carve a visor (two identical in size parts).

Wrap the liner to each other, but leave a small open seam (6-7 cm) through which the finished product can be unscrewed. There should also be 4 parts that are sewn to the bottom of the cap (2 facial, 2 lining), which will protect the ears.

Details of visor to sew together, cut off excess allowances and unscrew. Connect the elements that will cover the ears and also turn it to the front.

The main parts are ready, now they need to be assembled into one product. The lining of the cap and the cap itself are folded face to face, so that all the seams will be visible. Between the base and the main part, insert the visor inside and fix its untreated edge with pins between the main parts. On the sides of the visor in the same way to put inside the part that will cover the ears, and secure with pins.

Now, when all the necessary components are assembled, you need to stitch them and the lining in a circle with a single seam. It turns out that the visor and side details will remain inside the two sewn parts. Now it is necessary to find in the lining an unshielded patch (6-7 cm) and through it to turn out the whole product.

Open the area sewn by hand with a hidden seam, using threads in the tone of the fabric. You can find other patterns of hats from fleece, when the visor and "ears" are cut out with one detail. When sewing this one detail will need to be put between the main and lining cloth. The algorithm is the same: all parts are stitched together and unscrewed through the open seam.

Tailoring of sports cap from fleece

There is an even simpler version of the cap. The design of a sports cap made of fleece can be of two parts or one, if these two are carved together. If the part is one, then there will be only one seam - back. If two, then there will be two seams - on the sides. Patterns need to be made 6-7 cm longer, so that this piece of tissue is tucked inside and thus warming a part of the cap in the area of the ears.

Whichever option is chosen, first of all, you need to sew a dart at the top of the product, and then sew details. You can say that the hat is almost ready. It remains to process the internal seams and turn the edge. You can sew a decorative strip on the side.

If there is an overlock for stretch fabrics, then it will be much easier and faster to work, because in one seam a line is immediately laid and the edge is processed.
