Sights of the Lipetsk region. Parks of Lipetsk. Lipetsk

Lipetsk region is one of the regions of Russia, located in the Central Black Earth region of Russia. It became famous all over the country thanks to its mineral resorts. Below we will tell you which attractions of the Lipetsk region attract many tourists from Russia and from other countries.

Zadonsky Monastery

One of the main attractions of the Lipetsk region is the Zadonskiy Christmas-Bogoroditsky Monastery, which was founded in 1610. Since its inception, it houses the main shrine - the icon of the Mother of God. This is the only surviving relic after the devastating fire of 1692. Now the ensemble of the monastery is like a nice toy town, consisting of 6 temples, a hospital, a parochial school and several other buildings. St. Vladimir's Cathedral - the main element of the Zadonsky Monastery - is built in the Russian-Byzantine style. He admires the visitors with magnificent arched forms, elegant furnishings and colorful wall paintings. His photo you can see on the right.

The Nechaev Manor

One of the most famous monuments of architecture is the Nechaevs' manor, located 16 km from the famous Kulikovo Field. The palace was built in a small village of Polibino in the late 18th century. The times of building the estate had an important role in architecture - the building was erected in Empire style, which was actively developed at the turn of the XVIII and XIX centuries. In addition to the main building, a picturesque park with ponds, rare trees and fragrant flowers adjoined the palace. Unfortunately, throughout the twentieth century, the ensemble gradually came to desolation, often undergoing peasant invasions, which tore up pictures, carried away exclusive pieces of furniture and expensive accessories. Currently, unhurried restoration work is underway, which, according to experts, will not be able to restore the former greatness of the estate.

On the territory there is a tower, considered the world's first hyperboloid structure. The architect was the Russian engineer Shukhov, under whose supervision she was built. Its height is 45 m, and at the top there is a reservoir containing more than 100 000 liters of water.

Borkovsky Castle

Attractions of the Lipetsk region can please another decoration - Borkovsky Castle, an exceptional architectural creation of the last century. It is built in a strange Gothic style, rarely found in this region. Rapid construction of the palace ensemble began in the period from 1901 to 1912, when the estate was bought by Andrei Vladimirovich Romanov. We think it's easy to guess that with the advent of Soviet power the castle was nationalized. The building was never repaired, however, in 2009, restoration works began, which gradually return the magnificent appearance of the Borkovsky Castle.

Zapovednik "Galichya Gora"

It is famous far beyond the Lipetsk region, since its amazing flora attracts researchers from all corners of our country. On a relatively "small" territory of 230 hectares, extremely rare plants grow, among which are lithophytes, ephedra, donut, and others. Of course, there was a place for more habitual herbs and trees, such as oak, birch, linden, etc. Today the territory of the reserve is divided into 6 sections (clusters), each of which is unique in its importance and unusually beautiful.

Actually, Galichya Mountain is the name of a 19-hectare tract, which has become home to most rare plants that live on rocks with limestone coming out on the surface.

The second interesting area is the Morozova Mountain, the area of which is about 100 hectares. The rich fauna is of great interest, in which there were places for such species of birds as dwarf eagle, sable Falcon, golden eagle, black-headed beetle, etc. Of course, such diversity attracts great attention of ornithologists.

Voronov Stone, Plyuschany, Bykov's neck and Vorgolsky rocks also surprise visitors with unique flora and fauna, and the amazing charm of the virgin nature will only warm up the arisen love for these places.

Ascension Cathedral

The Ascension Cathedral is truly grandiose. Its height reaches 74 m, length - 94 m, and width - 34 m. The temple is richly decorated with gilded chandeliers, Florentine mosaic and crowned with sky-blue domes. The cathedral is painted by famous Russian artists AI Korzukhin and KV Lebedev. The interior of the temple is striking with a magnificent three-tiered iconostasis and monumental murals. Like many attractions in the Lipetsk region, the Ascension Cathedral felt all the hardships of the 1917 revolution. Fortunately, now the cathedral is completely restored, and the Sunday school, operating at the church, invites parishioners of any age.

Museum-Estate "Kray Dolgorukovsky"

This is perhaps one of the most unusual provincial museums located in the Lipetsk region. From the first minutes of acquaintance, he surprises with style, grandeur of architecture and unusual mood. As for the latter, the cathedral looks fun and bizarre, as the small turdent pinnacles, art yard objects and other decor elements say. Inside the museum there is a special atmosphere, plunging guests into timelessness ...

There are 11 rooms in the building, each of which has its own role. For example, one of them is devoted to the history of the village of Dolgorukovo, where the museum is located, the second - archeology, the third - to art and the like. In general, if you want to visit some strange place, come to this amazing village. Next, we will tell you about where Lipetsk is located, which is an oblast center, which also boasts a lot of unusual places.
