Russian Regional Airport Orsk
Orsk Airport is the second major air transport hub in the Orenburg region. It is located 16 km to the south of the city of the same name, near the border with Kazakhstan. Russians living in this area, as well as citizens of Kazakhstan, actively use its services.
History
The airport of the city of Orsk was founded in 1958, during the Soviet period. Then the aircraft fleet of the company included the An-2 and Yak-12 aircraft. A few years later, Il-14 and Li-2 aircraft began to be serviced here. In 1969, the airport began to service passenger flights to Moscow and back, which were performed on the An-24.
In the 1970s, Soviet civil aviation began to develop rapidly, so there was a need to modernize the conditions for servicing passenger transportation. In 1982, the construction of a new complex begins at the site of the present airport. The largest enterprises of the region take part in the works. In 1984, construction of a new runway starts. In this regard, civilian aircraft are received at the military airport Pervomaisky, not far from Orsk.
In 1987, a new runway with an artificial surface began to be operated, which allowed servicing the Tu-134 airliners. And in 1991 the direct air service on the route "Orsk-Moscow" was opened. By 1993, work was carried out on the reconstruction of the runway, as well as a technical flight on the domestic Tu-154 aircraft. A year later, the Il-76 service begins here. In 1998, the airport of Orsk received the status of an international air transport hub.
In the post-Soviet period contracts are actively signed with Russian and foreign air carriers. Until 2003, the organization was one of the structural subdivisions of the Orenburg air company, but later it became municipal. By 2011, the second runway upgrade was carried out.

Currently, the airport Orsk serves three air carriers, including one foreign. Orenburg Airlines operates flights to Svetly, Dombarovsky, Adamovka and Orenburg. Regular flights to Moscow are carried out by carriers "Saratov Airlines" and "Khan Air Systems".
