Give up sugar and alcohol for one month and see what happens

We live in a world where any food or drink contains ingredients that are harmful to humans. Products abound with preservatives, food additives and other chemicals. But harm is caused to our body by more traditional and traditional products. For example, almost everything that we eat contains sugar, even in products where we do not expect such a dirty trick. Another example: the consumption of alcohol is so widespread that it is elevated to the rank of necessity - without it there is not one joyful or sad event. And it's nothing to say about the habit of pouring alcohol on grief or celebrating luck. For most of us, it's hard to imagine even one day without consuming at least one of these two elements. Absolutely addictive in the society. What if we were asked to live without them for a month? We will talk about an experiment that scientists have conducted to find out how strongly the influence of these dietary changes on the physical and mental state of a person.

Start

So, the subject, the real character, let's call him Sasha, after visiting the sports doctor, he was convinced that there are big problems in his body: blood pressure, cholesterol, body weight were exceeded, and blood sugar, at least insignificantly, exceeded the norm. And then came this decision: for a month to refuse from sugar and any sweet foods, completely put a cross on alcoholic beverages. Month so month, Sasha did not even imagine how difficult it would be. After all, the body reacts violently to the rejection of any habits.

First week

In the early days, our friend reacted with a persistent feeling of irritation and hunger, and he wanted only sweet. He became nervous, he could not sleep until 3-4 o'clock in the morning, and in the morning he felt the devastation. Occasionally arrhythmia occurred - but this is because of depression, although he admitted that his performance improved somewhat. The pressure began to decrease, blood sugar too.

In any diet, even with complete starvation, the first three days become the most difficult, on the fourth day the peak of a feeling of hunger sets in. This is explained by the fact that the organism exhausts the accumulated food reserves in the gastrointestinal tract in three days, and on the fourth day it is taken for internal reserves. After that, there comes a kind of relief, and it's easier for a person to endure hunger. How was it with Sasha? By the end of the first week, he felt that the craving for sweets not only did not loosen, but even intensified. Eliminate alcohol was slightly easier, because he did not consider himself very addicted. Although, when something is prohibited, this is what you want most.

Starting from the second week

Here comes the confidence in yourself and your abilities. There are no habits, there is only connivance and willpower to resist it. Sasha realized that nothing is impossible for him. The same thing was said by his dietitian doctor who was on hand all the days of the experiment and checked his indices.

In the second week, the desire to eat something sweet was a little weakened, he practically did not think about alcohol, although he would not mind drinking a tonic or beer. Weight began to go away, even if not rapidly, but stable. The experiment successfully continued, the pressure was normal, although sometimes there was an arrhythmia. Cholesterol has not given up yet.

What is the problem?

The hardest thing for a person who decided to give up the sweet, is that there is sugar in almost all the products on our table and in the sales network. For example: it is in all bakery products, and not only in cakes and cakes. Is in ready breakfasts, in all fruit juices, and fruits too, especially dried, yogurt, ketchup and other sauces. In most foods, sugar is contained in at least a minimal amount. So it's very difficult even to exclude it 100 percent. The only thing that is important to clarify that the sugar contained in the fruit differs from the refined, the fruits contain the dietary fibers necessary for the correct processing of the same sugar, as well as for the functioning of the intestines, so that they can not be classified as harmful. Alcohol in small amounts is also present in many products.

On the harm of public catering

Where we can not in any way affect the composition of the food consumed - these are public catering establishments. In any cafe or restaurant in the food in abundance is sugar, and somewhere and alcohol. What is the way out for a man struggling with himself in an attempt to abandon these products? Cooking food at home, from proven, whole ingredients. Believe me, this will soon become a habit - after all, this experiment is by and large for a long-term perspective, and not just for this month.

Let's return to our Sasha

He not only supervised - with the help of a dietician - his diet, but was constantly under the supervision of doctors. Daily measurement of pulse, blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar, and weight have already become a habit. Now the usual breakfast in the form of a heavy hamburger and sweet coffee are in the past. More was the dietary products in the menu, there were even new for him - steamed vegetables. Although the restrictions only concerned sugar and alcohol. Sweet still wanted to, although not so acute. The doctor explained this as follows: there is a persistent habit of sugar, and when he stops coming into the body, he feels tired, bordering on depression. With alcohol the same. Although alcohol itself causes the same sensations: it dehydrates the body and deprives the body of energy.

Food dependence is the same drug

Yes, it's hard to argue with this. Sasha felt the same thing during this month's experiment. The biggest difficulty for a person with food restrictions is that he really wants to eat exactly what is forbidden. So the person is arranged - the forbidden fruit is sweet. And if in a literal sense?

The last week of the experiment has gone. Our friend confessed that only now he has ceased to dream of a sweet or sweet cake. This man was clearly a sweet tooth!

But now he had obvious changes in the body for the better: lowered the upper pressure from 135 to 125 - this is an ideal. The level of cholesterol fell by 8 percent. The arrhythmia did not bother anymore, my heart was working fine. He was full of energy, he got up in the morning cheerful and cheerful than he could not boast of before. And yet - his weight gradually decreased by itself by 4.5 kg. According to him, he felt almost a boy of 18 years. Although it was slightly more than 30, but at the same time the person managed to thoroughly undermine his health. But Sasha was very lucky - he began to put himself in order on time, and not with a delay of half a century, as it usually happens.

Goodbye

So a month passed. Next, Sasha must decide for himself: to adhere, even approximately, to the basic requirements, the fulfillment of which was given to him so hard, or immediately to eat sweets, drinking them with sweet soda. The doctor warned that the reverse process - increasing cholesterol and blood sugar, blood pressure and weight - will happen much more swiftly than he got rid of all this. This is not checked by one or two people. This rule is. There is no question of forever giving up sugar in the diet or a glass of wine. This is a measure that every person should know if he wants to live a healthy life. Councils to limit the consumption of alcohol-containing and sugar-containing products sound from everywhere with enviable constancy. But no one hears them.

We hope that the example of our new friend Sasha will inspire you to take care of yourself and your health.
