Plastic slopes: types and technology of installation
For finishing door and window openings after installing a window or door, plastic slopes are most often used.
Benefits
Despite the fact that plastic slopes not so long ago appeared in the CIS market, they quickly took the leading position among the technologies used in the installation of PVC windows, due to the many advantages and qualities that make them significantly superior to other materials used previously. Such advantages are:
- Exceptional practicality;
- High thermal insulation properties;
- Moisture resistance;
- Good sound insulation;
- Easy care, which does not require complicated cleaning and staining;
- Fast installation of slopes of plastic windows;
- Resistance to weathering;
- Absence of construction debris and dirt after installation;
- Beautiful appearance that will suit almost any style of interior.
Types of plastic slopes
There are three types of slopes made of plastic, which differ in manufacturing technology:
- slopes made of foamed plastic;
- plastic slopes from sandwich panels;
- slopes of gypsum board, covered with hard plastic.
Technology of manufacturing slopes from plastic
1. For the production of slopes made of foamed plastic, integral foam PVC is used. The outer layer of this material is smooth and hard. It is bent at the necessary angle, having made an incision, and for bending along the radius, frequent incisions are made, which are then fixed with the help of a special glue. Due to this, slopes are made with extensions and bends.
2. Finishing the slopes of plastic windows with sandwich panels allows you to choose the most appropriate type of slope according to the type of window, as they can be matte, glossy or "under the tree". The inner layer of plastic slopes made of sandwich panels has a porous structure. Due to this, they have a high resistance to the formation of condensate, when there is a low temperature outside the window, and also have thermal insulation properties and vapor tightness.
3. The third type of plastic slopes is made by facing the plasterboard slopes with rigid PVC plastic. To the plasterboard it is attached with the help of liquid nails. The drawback of this method is that such a plastic does not have sufficient strength and is easily deformable. And it has a special silky surface, which contributes to rapid contamination, which is not so easy to clean as from the smooth surface of the first two types of slopes.
