Bones on legs: causes and methods of treatment

Bones on the legs - a fairly common problem, especially common in the fair sex. Statistics show that women suffer from cones on their toes 20 times more often than men. In most cases, this disease is taken for arthrosis, gout or deposition of salts. But the reasons for the formation of cones can be quite different.

Bones on legs: causes of disease

To date, there are many theories about the causes of bone development. Nevertheless, the most probable of them is a transverse flatfoot, which is associated with insufficient strength of the ligaments on the foot. Over time, the deformation becomes more and more noticeable - the thumb is deflected into the second phalanx, and its base protrudes on the inner side of the foot, forming a lump. The disease develops gradually - over time, women notice that the bones on the legs are very bad.

Here there is a genetic predisposition, which, moreover, is transmitted mainly through the female line. But this is not the only possible reason. Bones on the legs may appear as a result:

  • Constant wearing of inconvenient model shoes with high heels with a narrow toe.
  • Injuries of the foot.
  • Work, which is associated with a long load on the feet.
  • Some diseases of the endocrine system.
  • Excess weight.
  • Deficiency of vitamins E, C and A.

Bones on legs: stages of disease development

If you suspect a similar problem, you should immediately consult an orthopedist. The patient must make an X-ray stop. The doctor should also distinguish the real valgus deformation of the foot from gout, arthrosis and other diseases. It is accepted to distinguish four basic degrees of development of this disease:

  • At the first stage, the thumb is shifted by no more than 20 degrees. Pain and discomfort are not present, only aesthetic inconvenience is felt.
  • The second is accompanied by a displacement of the finger by 20-30 degrees and a slight discomfort, which appears only with prolonged walking.
  • In the third stage, the displacement angle is about 30-50 degrees, there is limited movement and pain.
  • The fourth degree of deformation is characterized by a deviation of more than 50 degrees, constant pain and a tendency to calluses.

How to treat bones on legs?

The method of treatment directly depends on the degree of development of the disease. Sometimes there will be enough therapeutic physical education, and sometimes you just can not do without surgical intervention. However, treatment should be comprehensive and include the following aspects:

  • An integral part of therapy is proper nutrition, which provides for the exclusion from the diet of acute products, spices, smoked products, sweets and fried foods.
  • Of course, women suffering from cones on their feet should be careful about the choice of shoes. Boots and shoes with sharp noses and high heels with such a disease are contraindicated. Shoes should be comfortable, made of natural materials, equipped with a supinator and a small wide heel (no more than 4 cm).
  • Massages, physiotherapy exercises and some methods of physiotherapy will also be useful.
  • Unfortunately, it is most difficult to treat pronounced ossicles on the legs. Sometimes the operation is the only optimal way out. During the procedure, the doctor corrects deformity. After that, as a rule, it is necessary to wear special orthopedic tires.
