Openwork pattern "Leaves" with knitting needles: scheme and description

Among all the openwork patterns designed for knitting with knitting needles, the most popular was the ornament, called simply "Leaves". Its structure is ridiculously simple. There are countless variations of performance. Therefore it is difficult to say how to knit the pattern of "Leaves" with knitting needles. You can only give the main characteristic features that distinguish it from other ornaments.

Anatomy of a leaf

On close examination it becomes obvious that all versions of the pattern are made of several knitting techniques "skeleton", decorated with various decorations. The classic openwork pattern "Leaves", created with spokes, has a central axis in the form of a column of facial loops. The shape of the sheet is obtained as a result of successive addition and reduction of the loops. To ensure that the width of the canvas does not fluctuate, these maneuvers are combined with capes. For example:

  • The first half of the pattern is the extension of the sheet. New loops are formed from the cusps before and after the central loop. At the same time, along the outer boundaries, the elements should be reduced (in two places of the report, two loops are tied together).
  • When the sheet reaches the desired width, additions are completed. And then they start cutting the loops. That is, now the contour of the figure will look like a cone. To make the sheet symmetrical, the loops are reduced in different ways: on the right side of the rapport the two faces are tied to the left, and in the second part of the pattern - on the contrary. Formation of nakids near the central axis stops. But for balance, the shrinking loops are stabilized by the napkin before and after the leaf.

The top of the element is always sharp. This is the result of the formation of one face loop of three. If you perform this method in the usual way, you can not avoid tilting the loops to the left or to the right. Designers found an excellent way out, thanks to which the pattern "Leaves" knitted with knitting needles became more expressive. They offer to the skilled workers first to take the first of the three loops on the right knitting needle. Then tie the second and third hinges together. And pass them through the first (previously removed).

Pattern "Leaves" (knitting needles). Scheme, application, location of elements

Today, this ornament can be seen both in classical performance (leaves without additional decor, located in a checkerboard pattern), and accompanied by various braids, furs and other background patterns. The most interesting are canvases from purl loops with three-dimensional leaves. At first glance, it seems that this is not an integral part, but an appliqué. The most courageous designers and virtuoso knitters manage to make whole compositions of these simplest components.

They add twigs, stems, berries and cuttings from the facial loops. Extremely attractive, but also quite complex circular pattern "Leaves" (spokes). The scheme for performing a classical sheet in combination with "false braids" is suggested below.

Advantages of Ornament

One of the most important advantages of the pattern can easily be called simplicity of manipulations with the size of the rapport. The pattern of the spokes "Leaves" with the description, calculated on 10 rows, easily turns into a canvas with larger or, conversely, small elements (from five to twenty rows).

In order to expand the rapport, it is sufficient to simply continue the execution of the wedges before and after the central axis, while cutting the loops at the beginning and at the end of each sheet. In this case, the rapport will increase. But the total number of loops in the rows of the canvas will remain at one level. This means that the part will not expand.

If it is necessary to enlarge the canvas together with the rapport of the pattern, then, apart from the nacs in the center, they also perform the napkin before and after the leaves. A beginner knitter might argue that making two cuffs and cutting one loop is irrational. After all, you can tie one cape and do without reducing the loops. However, it is precisely the tying of the two loops that together allows the formation of such relief contours.

How to reduce the canvas associated with "leaves"?

The "Leaves" pattern, created with knitting needles, can easily be used to narrow the detail. The principle opposite to that described in the previous paragraph: it is necessary to break the balance between new and retired elements. To speed up the reduction of the canvas, the wizard should not perform the dressing before and after the sheet (in its second part). Thus, the elements will only be eliminated.

You will get an improved "Leaves" pattern. Spokes can be made in an expanded or narrowed version. In this case, it is suitable for the design of the bottom of dresses and skirts, the manufacture of shawls and capes, as well as for pillowcases and bags tied round. Those who are familiar with the technique of crocheting, it will be interesting to compare "Leaves" with "Pineapples". In fact, they are similar patterns, built on a single template.

Openwork knitting: the pattern "Leaves". Spokes working with a thin mohair

Today pullovers, tunics and dresses from the finest mohair are considered the top of grace and good taste. Many craftsmen select the optimal combination of pattern and pattern for quite some time. After all, this is the lion's share of the success of the whole project. The situation is complicated by the fact that once bound a piece of cloth from a thin mohair is not allowed to unfold and rework.

The long fibers of the yarn tightly intertwine among themselves and burst when the rows dissolve. As a result, you get a spoiled material (fluff and pile are knocked together by nylon-based lumps). Add to this a lot of time spent and a disgusting mood. Many negative consequences can be avoided by applying a proven method: a simple model plus a classic pattern. The following photo shows a great ornament that can decorate any knitted product.

The outline of this product is also quite simple. Even a novice knitter can cope with it.

The secret of bulk "knobs"

"Acorns", "bumps" or "berries" can be performed in two ways:

  1. They are crocheted and then fastened to the finished part. To do this, form a chain of four air loops and tie 10-12 columns with a crochet in the first loop.
  2. The formation of the volume element occurs in parallel with the rest of the web. The master binds 10-12 facial loops from one of the base loops, and in the next row collects them, tying together.

The second method is not as complex as it might seem at first glance. First, from the loop of the base, form the classical facial, then make a cape and again loop. The sequence continues the required number of times.
