Sew takes: pattern, processing, material selection

With the onset of the first spring days, I want to take off warm winter things and change into something comfortable and light, but at the same time warm enough that a piercing wind does not cause a cold. In March-April, few people go without a hat, but fur hats are no longer relevant. So it's time to get a fashionable beret.

By the way, this headpiece may well be winter, if you sew it from fur or other warm material. In general, the material plays an important role and determines the seasonality of the thing. The pattern of beret from fur is no different from the summer model, but the canvas used dictates mood, style and seasonality.

Tools for work

So, the main thing is to set a goal, choose the most suitable model, define a work plan, and you can tackle the tools. The work will require a centimeter tape, scissors, fabric for the base, if desired and for the lining, the material for the strip, if the main fabric does not stretch, the slanting seam for sewing seams and sewing accessories. And then it's time to understand how to sew beret. The pattern of which model will be more understandable, for that model and worth taking, especially for beginners. And after mastering the simplest template, you will be able to try the variant more complicated.

Material selection

For summer natural linens, such as linen, cambric, and cotton are perfect. Such berets will be perfectly protected from the scorching sun, and they will not be too hot. In autumn and spring, it is better to choose a cloth more tightly, for example, velor, velvet, angora and other warm knitted fabrics. Winter beret can be made of artificial or natural short-cut fur, woolen cloth with small pile. Also for such models you can take a coat of cloth, for example, cashmere. Do not forget about such soft and warm materials as fleece or polor. A scarf from the same canvas perfectly complements beret. The shape of the beret determines its shape and landing, so you should consider all possible models and choose the most acceptable and in terms of complexity and personal preferences.

Option one: two parts

The simplest pattern is a circle that is about 10-15 cm in circumference around the perimeter. The second part of this beret is a strip of knitted fabric 7-8 cm wide and equal in length to the head. Naturally, such a pattern of beret from the fabric is built directly on the fabric, and during assembly there are no problems. Just need to plant a section of the circle evenly across the sewn strip.

Option two: three parts

The following model is also easy to perform, although it consists of three parts. This pattern of beret is being built on the basis of the measurement of the circumference of the head. First of all, an even circle is drawn, equal in measure to the perimeter. After retreating from the figure of 6 cm, a circle is also drawn, strictly parallel to the first. When cutting from a fabric, cut a circle along the larger border, after the circle without the middle of the measurement, and the strip of fabric for the strap by the volume of the head (in the stretched form with a width of 8 cm).

When assembling into the seam of the top "pancake" with beret fields, you can insert a rim that will keep the shape well and give beautiful waves when planting. Also it is possible to cut out the lining for the basic details to close the joint of the bar attachment.

The third option: from wedges

The most difficult model in execution is the wedge beret. The pattern of such a headdress has many details and requires careful fitting of the seams during assembly. To create a template, you need a sheet of paper on which to place an even circle with a perimeter equal to the volume of the head (the spacing from its boundaries is about 7 cm).

First draw a circle, after retreat from the line of 7 cm and output a parallel closed line. The small circle is divided into the required number of equal wedges. Further from the points of intersection of the lines of division and the boundary, the part is removed to the exterior without expansion. After the edge, the part is leveled, drawing a straight line at right angles to the first and second lines (the lateral boundaries of the wedge). In this way, you will get a ready-made pattern of beret from fur and other warm fabrics, when it is necessary to reduce the number of waves in the bend when planting.

It is worth noting that it is not necessary to draw all the wedges on the template, it will be enough to complete one and to cut the rest. In this model, the wedges can be narrowed to the edge so that the product does not need to be placed on an additional bar. Only one such wedge - and comes out a ready-made pattern beret. Of fabric, this option also looks great, especially if it's lightweight fabrics. Extra stitches with stitching can become a real decoration of the headdress.

Assembling and processing

In order for a neat product to come out, it should be properly treated beret. Pattern is only half the battle. Of course, ideally all seams are best treated with an overlock, but if there is not such an assembly, then the sewing machine with a zigzag line will come off. Also, the seams can be made with an oblique bake, closing all the sections in it. Winter fur hats can be made on the lining. It is also cut out according to the basic patterns and makes the same allowances. The seam of joining the elastic strap when sewing the lining cloth is hidden inside, leaving a small area of the unclosed seam, after turning the product out and closing the slot manually.

One has only to try to work on this garment, as it will immediately become clear that it is not difficult to sew berets by oneself. The patterns described above are very simple to perform. Even the most inexperienced seamstress can cope with this task. A little zeal, and a fashionable new thing will be ready.
