Mint liquor with their own hands and delicious drinks from it

When summer comes, it's time to take advantage of the spicy gifts of nature - herbs, such as lemon balm or mint. After all, from fresh mint it is easy to make a delicious original drink with an emerald color and a refined aroma, especially if mint liqueur is not possible to buy.

There are a lot of recipes for preparing this alcoholic beverage, but its essence does not change from this. Mint liquor consists of only two main components - tinctures of herbs and sugar syrup. In this article, two methods of preparing a beverage will be described.

Home made mint liquor. Method of preparation No. 1

To prepare this drink, the following ingredients are needed:

- 1 liter of vodka;

- 2 cups of sugar;

- 1 glass of water;

- 6 sprigs of freshly picked mint.

First you need to take a jar, put a sprig of mint into it, pour vodka and close it with a dense lid. The bank needs to be cleaned for two weeks in a dark and, preferably, cool room. After two weeks, the vodka must be filtered and filtered. Then, from the water and sugar, you need to make a syrup, then filter it and wait until it cools down to room temperature. Then you need to pour it into mint vodka and mix the drink thoroughly. Leave the liquor infused for a month.

To prepare an alcoholic beverage in the second way, it will take less time and slightly different proportions:

- ½ liter of vodka;

- 400 g of sugar;

- 400 ml of water;

- 5 sprigs of freshly picked mint.

Mint should be cut into small pieces and poured with vodka. The mixture should be put in a dark and warm place for a week. Then you need to make a syrup: cut 2 sprigs of mint, pour a specified amount of water, bring to a boil, reduce heat and pour sugar into the water. Boil for a minute. Then also strain the syrup cooled to room temperature and vodka, diligently mix both liquids. The resulting drink should be infused for three weeks. It has a pronounced taste of mint. For true gourmets.

You can serve mint liquor not only as a great drink. It is also a component for the preparation of many sweet treats, such as cakes, ice cream, puddings and much more. In addition, liqueurs for cocktails as a basis are used quite widely. It can be a simple cocktail "Chocolate Mint", where 50 ml of milk are mixed in a shaker with 20 ml of mint and 20 ml of chocolate liqueur, and a layered cocktail, for example, "Black Dragon". To make it, you need 20 ml of Scotch whiskey, 20 ml of mint and 20 ml of coffee liqueur. In the glass you need to consistently gently pour first mint, then coffee liqueurs, and in the end, pour a layer of whiskey. For decoration, you can hang pieces of pineapple, lime, lemon, or cherry on the edge of the container.

However, when making cocktails with mint liquor, you can safely experiment and choose the missing ingredients to your own taste. Its amazing aroma, delicate taste and emerald color only underline the dignity of the rest of the beverage.
