Cocktail "Aperol-syringe" - trend youth summer drink

Just a couple of years ago you could have accidentally tried a cocktail based on sparkling wine and bitter (it could be Aperol or Campari) from someone at a weekend party. Now it has gained real popularity and has become one of the most trendy summer youth cocktails in the world. The drink of the summer of 2013 firmly stands on its way to the title of "World Aperitif", and the name to it is the cocktail "Syringe-Aperol", the recipe of which we now learn.

Drinks became more and more popular, and so new and new cocktails were invented. Fashion for them quickly spread to Europe. In Paris, London, Venice, you could taste a classic popular cocktail at that time in a hotel or bar, or at a "cocktail party", which even then became popular with young people.

Cocktail "Syringe-Aperol"

"Aperol" is an Italian aperitif that has been around for a long time. As they say, everything new is a well-forgotten old, and recently it was re-opened by barmen. The bright orange color pleasantly pleases the eye, and from it the name of the cocktail, well, the syringe, most likely, means "splashing". "Aperol-syringe" has a unique taste, thanks to a secret recipe with infusions of selected ingredients, including bitter and sweet oranges, and many other herbs (including rhubarb) and roots. The cocktail "Syringe-Aperol" is slightly alcoholic, but only 11%, so it blends well with other liquors.

History of creation

Orange liqueur was invented back in 1919 by Barbieri brothers in the city of Padua. Originally developed for health and appetite, after eating - to improve digestion. "Aperol" is sweeter and with a lower alcohol content - only 11 percent. Herbal bitterness (gentian, rhubarb), bitter and sweet oranges, spices perfectly came to the well-known at the beginning of the last century cocktails "syringes", which included local wine and non-alcoholic tonic. As a result of this, and appeared "Aperol-syringe" - tart, tonic and refreshing.
In those years, the town was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, it was the Austrians who came up with the idea of diluting Venetian wines with soda, so Austria also has to do with the origin of the "Aperol", at least, disputes about this are still being conducted.

Recipe

There are numerous variations of cocktail preparation in a certain area, and each bartender has his own recipe. Ingredients should be sufficiently cooled, usually dry white wine (Prosecco or sparkling) and carbonated water (40% wine, 30% water and 30% aperitif).

The last 30% can be changed to the taste of a bartender. Decoration - a slice of an orange and, perhaps, an olive. These are the classic proportions of the cocktail "Aperol-syringe", the recipe of which you can learn and taste in Verona and Venice. The barman falls asleep a handful of ice in a glass, then pours wine to half, tops it with a soda and generously pours all over with an aperitif - from the heart and how much he will fit in, decorates with an orange slice and olive to taste. Serve "Aperol-syringe" in wide glasses, also add ice. Of course, you can use "Campari" instead of "Aperol", but you will get a stronger cocktail of saturated dark red color, and its taste will be more bitter. To get real and real taste, it is advised to use a classic aperitif. So the drink will have a more sweet and pungent taste, and you will get a true "Aperol-syringe". Serve it with classic Italian snacks.
