Many are well aware of such a combination as Elan, 31612, Sverdlovsk region. With this number of the military unit and the name of the settlement, some former military conscripts have memories of their stay in the training.

Sverdlovsk Region, Education (Elan): History of Education

Initially, on the site of the current center was a division of the 279 rifle division, whose formation is attributed to 1942. Previously, it was structurally part of the 59th separate rifle brigade.

The newly formed part fought on the Kaliningrad front, liberated the Smolensk region. In the autumn of 1943, she participated in the breakthrough of defense under the Seversky Donets and the liberation of the city of Lisichansk. Since then the name of this settlement is fixed in the name of the existing training center.

During the war, division fighters participated in battles in Ukraine, in the Crimea. When Simferopol was released, the division was awarded for participation in the operation of the Order of the Red Banner.

Later there was the Sevastopol defense, the liberation of the Baltic states. After the Great Patriotic War, the division was relocated to the area of the city of Kamyshlov. After a year, there was a contraction, and the division became a rifle brigade.

In 1954 it was converted into 61 mehdiviziyu, and from 1957 - into 44 tank, which in 1956 was transferred to the settlement of Elan (Sverdlovsk region).

Since 1987, the tank division has become the 473rd district center, where motorized rifle troops began to train specialists for themselves.

Since 1998, the training center has received a third qualification category. 2004 ended with the merger of two district training centers - 473rd and 469th. The place of dislocation was the city of Elan (Sverdlovsk region).

Since September 2012, 241 centers of airborne troops have joined the Lisichansk Red Banner District Training Center.

In 2014, a new hostel for cadets was built in the village. Poroshino. In Elani there was a training ground, where training is conducted.

Conditions of service in the training

During the year, the reception of newcomers to the training center takes place twice. The students are trained for four months, then 90 percent of the trainees are distributed in different parts, and the others finish at the place of study, which became Elan (Sverdlovsk region).

Cadets live in the dormitories, for each floor there is a room for rest and sports. Civilians work in the dining room.

Local water can not be drunk, so it has to be delivered specifically for refueling coolers. Given the large number of servicemen (seven thousand people), water sometimes breaks.

Independently leave the location of the unit, soldiers and sergeants are not allowed to do this, only if accompanied by an officer. Similarly, you can visit a store located near the military town.

About medical problems

Taking into account that the climatic conditions in a settlement such as Elan (Sverdlovsk region) are typical for the entire Ural region, that is, they are rather severe, a lot of attention is paid to medical issues. Disease in these parts is not uncommon.

Every day cadets undergo medical examination. If any health problems are identified, the sick person is taken to a medical facility.

With mild illness, treatment can occur in a company. In case of serious complications, the recruit is taken to the ward of the infirmary or the hospital of Elansk. In this case, the officer escort is not required.

From the hospital the cadet has the right to call relatives on Tuesdays and Fridays until 14.00. On weekends, the phone is issued to the patient for a whole day.

On the adoption of the oath and the regime of visits

Acceptance of the oath is quite an outstanding event in the life of the cadet, therefore, it takes place in a solemn atmosphere. Begin to take the oath on Saturday morning from nine o'clock. Cadets are then released for a whole day on leave.

At night, fighters must be in the location of the unit, even those with families can not leave it.

In the afternoon on weekends, relatives can be seen with cadets in special checkpoints, where they are allowed to meet. For this purpose the time is set aside: on Saturday from 13 to 19 hours and on Sunday from 10 am to 9 pm.

Receipt by the cadets of the dismissal is allowed after the submission of the corresponding report, where the information about visiting relatives or acquaintances, indicating the date and time of their visit, should be indicated.

Relatives require a passport as collateral, as well as a mobile phone number and exact location address.

About discipline in the training center

Earlier in the media, sometimes flashed notes on hazing in the Russian army. This phenomenon did not bypass the military unit, the location of which is Elan (Sverdlovsk region).

However, according to the cadets, recently problems with "hazing" have been resolved. Of course, as in other parts, there are extraordinary incidents here.

So, in October 2012, the accident happened in the Elansk garrison, when the driver-engineer died. Sergeant Yuri Andryushchenko. When the technique was withdrawn from the park zone, he could not start his car. Airborne ensign Ivan Kartashev decided to use another BMP to push the faulty car and gave the appropriate command.

At the time of joining Sergeant Andryushchenko wires for external launch of the BMP moved, and he was crushed by the door of the car.

At the present time, part of the command of the unit takes measures to prevent such cases.
