Military unit as a concept of structure in the troops

The fulfillment of various tasks facing the troops of the country in various conditions of its state requires the creation of military formations on a permanent or temporary basis. Given the established traditions, such are: unit, military unit, unit and association.

History

Until the middle of the nineteenth century in the Russian Empire, the term "military unit" was given a different meaning, which was collectively referred to as any armed formations of a permanent composition. To improve the structure of the army, the documents regulating its condition, discussions and carrying out measures for rearming, improving the quality of training of servicemen, an appropriate commission was established by the imperial decree in 1855. According to the results of its activities, the structure of the armed forces gradually began to acquire the shape that, with the modern changes, is known to everyone.

Structure

The military unit (or simply part) is an organizational, independent combat, administrative and economic structure of the armed forces. To its external features should be attributed: their own office work and military facilities, postal and telegraphic address, stamp, as well as the existence of the Battle Banner.

It includes in its composition smaller units - units. Depending on the type and kind of troops, there are differences in the names of units.

Hierarchy of military units

The minimum military formation, called the military unit, refers to the regiment. Earlier, the regiment was the main tactical unit, which includes battalions and separate units. At the present stage of development, his army (and also the division) was replaced by brigades. Severomorsk can be an example. The military units in it are dislocated, they have different status. This is due to differences in the tasks they solve - both in fact, and in terms of opportunities or necessities.

In addition, there are military units that have the status of "separate". Separate battalions and companies also have all the external attributes of the military unit, existing as independent units, but they are deployed, as a rule, together with larger formations. Their emergence is due to the need to solve specific problems, such as the special purpose unit - 459 orSpN (a separate company of special forces of Turkmenistan, which worked for special purposes in the DRA).

The term "connection" is used as an understanding of the location under a single command of a number of parts. It includes both the division and the brigade, but in the case when it contains several separate battalions and a mouth.

Names of military units

Each military unit has its name on conditional and actual data. Actual numbers, honorary names and names of awards, by which the part was awarded, and also the nominal name refer to the valid. In case of unclassified correspondence, a conditional name is used. It is a five- or four-digit number, depending on whether it belongs to the form of the force component of the country. As an example, we give the town of Kamenka. Military unit No. 02511, which is stationed there, has a corresponding valid name - 137 motorized rifle brigade. For those formations that do not have such a conventional name, their actual name is used, without disclosing specialization. For example, the 371 consolidated warehouse is referred to as the "371 warehouse".
