Lilies of the Asian group

This large group has more than 5 thousand varieties. Dwarf lilies up to 49 cm high, medium - up to 129 cm and lily-giants - more than 150 cm. The smell of the flowers of this group is barely perceptible, they practically do not smell. But the beauty of flowers in full it compensates. The most common varieties of this group are Lady Jane, Sweet Surrender, Pearl Jennifer, Red Velvet, Aelita, Iowa Rose, White Twinkle, Pearl Justine and, of course, the charming representative of Asian hybrids - Pink Mist. About it and will be discussed in this article.

Pink Lily - preparation of the place and soil for planting

Like many representatives of this group, the pink lily prefers open areas. You can grow it in the penumbra, but not next to the trees. The place must be protected from the wind. It is advisable to plant the lily on a hill, as it does not tolerate overmoistening. Prefers loose and nutritious soil - fertilized sandy loam soils and light loam.

It is better to prepare the soil in advance, you need to approach this issue thoroughly, since the pink lily grows without transplantation for at least 3 years. In a heavy ground, make peat, sand, humus and organic fertilizers. With organic it is important not to overdo it, because from excess fertilizer, pink lily will go into growth.

Planting lilies

The preferred time for planting is autumn, next year the bulbs will take root well. In spring, planting is carried out as soon as the soil is thawed. Transplanted Asian hybrids every 3 years, as they build up their daughter bulbs very quickly.

The depth of embedment in the soil depends on the composition of the soil. Usually, the pink lily is planted to a depth 3 times the diameter of the bulb. In light soil lilies are planted deeper than in heavy soil. The depth of embedding of stunted varieties is 10 cm; Medium - 15 cm, high - 15 - 20 cm. Very small bulbs are buried 7 cm deep. A variety of lilies influences the interval between plants: large varieties after 25 cm, low ones - 15 cm.

When planting, make spacious holes, so as not to damage the bulbs when sealing the soil. It is better to make a small hillock out of the soil on the bottom of the hole, place an onion on it, carefully spread the roots and sprinkle with the soil.

Features of care

Lily pink is unpretentious in care. All care is in the timely weeding and loosening of the soil. To feed flowers it is necessary only in the event that fertilizers were not brought in preparing the soil. Watering should be regular, the soil should be moderately moist. To preserve moisture, the soil around the flowers can be mulched. Watering plants preferably in the evening hours and under the root to avoid the appearance of burns on leaves and diseases.

Reproduction

There are several ways of multiplying lilies, but the simplest is the division of bulbs. Lily pink very quickly builds bulbs. For her, division is not only an easy way to reproduce, but also a necessary process, since dense nests affect the flowering of plants: flowers melt, or even the plant ceases to bloom.
