Increased vibration of the engine on idle. Vibration diesel engine on idle

During operation, the engine operates in different modes. One such is idling. This is the operation of the engine in neutral transmission with the clutch switched off. At this point, the flywheel is disconnected from the transmission. Transmission of torque is not performed, that is, the motor runs idle (hence the name). If the engine vibrates at idle, this is a serious reason for the diagnosis. After all, the serviceable motor should not transmit vibration to the body. In today's article, we will look at why this problem arises and how it can be eliminated.

What is the rate of turnover?

If you reset the box to "neutral", the tachometer needle will drop to 800-1000 rpm. This parameter may differ slightly on different engines, but it does not go beyond this. If the speed is less, the engine simply stalls. But even increased "idle" are harmful to the motor. So not only is much fuel consumed, but also the engine elements wear out more. Next, consider the reasons for which there is an increased vibration of the engine on idle ones.

Motor Tearing

This is a generalized name if one (and possibly several) cylinders do not work in the engine. The majority of passenger cars use in-line 4-cylinder engines. Therefore, if one of them does not work, this problem is called "rolling". As you press the accelerator, the revolutions will increase and the vibration will partially disappear. But this is not a solution to the problem, since the engine's power is reduced by 20-40 percent. Also, fuel consumption increases (about the same amount). Vibration of the engine on idle will be transmitted not only to the body, but also to the steering wheel. This is especially noticeable when driving with a load (for example, with a trailer).

It should be noted that the problem is dangerous not only uncomfortable driving and high fuel consumption. With such a motor, the elements of the CCW wear heavily. One of the cylinders receives fuel, which does not burn, but only flushes out the lubricant. As a result, strong scuffs are formed, rings wear out. If you use such a motor for a long time, you can get ellipse of the cylinders.

How to solve a problem? Candles

First of all, we look at their condition. Elements are unscrewed by a specialized key and subjected to testing. For this, a small device is used in the form of a pistol. How to use it? The cap should be put on the top of the candle (where the high-voltage wire is connected), and the metal tip, which at the exit of the gun, is attached to the side part where the thread is. Then click on the trigger and look at the candle. If she gives a spark, then it's all right. If not, it means that it is the cause of engine vibration at idle. The candle does not produce a spark, because of which the mixture is wasted, without igniting. When diagnosing it is worthwhile to inspect all the candles. The problem can be found in any of the cylinders (it is impossible to visually determine the "triple" cylinder).

Trembler, coil, wire

The next problem is incorrect ignition. So, even with a serviceable candle there may be omissions. The fault is a worn out ignition coil or high-voltage wires themselves. The latter check is very simple - in the dark, open the hood and inspect their condition with the engine running. If sparks come out of the wires, it means that they are "punched" and are subject to replacement. As for the coil, it is possible to determine its malfunction only if it is installed in a known way. It is worth noting that the number of coils can differ depending on the design features of the engine (from 1 to 4 or more). Another cause may be an incorrect ignition timing. This happens on machines equipped with a tramper. The parameter can be corrected by turning its body relative to the camshaft. You can put the POC on the eye. After adjustment, the car is dispersed to 60 kilometers per hour and includes the 4th gear. The machine should not detonate. If so, then the angle should be corrected in the opposite direction.

Also, the rope arises from the incorrect position of the belt or chain timing. The latter has the property of stretching. As a result, the phases are shifted even when the chain does not jump even to the tooth. It should be checked how the labels match and if necessary replace the drive. Chain changes once in 100-150 thousand, belt - 60 times.

Vibration diesel engine on idle

As is known, on such motors the mixture ignites independently, from the compression force. There are no coils and spark plugs. But what to do if there are vibrations of the engine of the car at idle speed? The reason lies in the fuel supply. For this process, the injectors and the injection pump are responsible. The latter has a special adjusting screw. They set the amount of diesel fuel supplied to maintain the set engine speed.

Also, the vibration of the engine on idle arises from the jammed jets. They may incorrectly spray the fuel or serve it in limited portions. You can check them through the K-Line adapter (computer diagnostics). The program will show how much pressure is in the nozzles, in real time. The parameter should not go to minus and be very different from neighboring nozzles. The optimal data is zero or one.

Elements of the plant

This is perhaps the most serious problem that can cause a vibration. So, this problem occurs because of a cracked crankshaft or an erased flywheel. This happens if the engine is regularly subjected to loads. Sometimes the cost of repairing the crank mechanism is comparable to the price of the contract engine.

Pillows

The vibration of the engine at idle can occur due to an improperly fixed power unit. As a result, there is a strong imbalance. The engine is attached to the frame or body (if it is a carrier) by means of rubber-metal cushions. Over time, they loosen, dry up and deform. The problem is dangerous not only the vibrations of the engine on idle, but also the skewing of the box. If this is an "automatic machine", he can kick. And on the "mechanics" can hardly switch gears. Usually three pillows are used in the car. Two go to the engine and one to the gearbox. Vibration of the engine on idle can occur even after one of them fails. The element begins to loosen to 250 thousand kilometers. In comparison with a deformed flywheel or cranked shaft, this problem is not so terrible. The cost of a new pillow is not more than a thousand rubles, and you can replace it yourself.

Conclusion

So, we found out, because of what there is an increased vibration at idle speed in the engine of the car. As you can see, the reasons can be very different - from small ones with candles and a pillow to serious ones, connected with the crankshaft and flywheel. In any case, the problem must be addressed urgently. Otherwise, other elements of the engine will be seriously deteriorated.
