Cherries can be purchased on the market. It remains to properly weld them. Cherry jam for the winter is prepared very simply. This recipe is powerful even for young housewives.

What is needed?

First you need to prepare all the necessary components. To cook jam from cherries, you need:

  1. Ripe fresh cherries are five kilograms.
  2. Water is one liter.
  3. The citric acid is four grams.
  4. Sugar sand - three kilograms.

How to choose the right cherry

The berries should be mashed. In this mass, you need to add sugar, and pour in water. The container with the future jam should be placed on medium fire. Mass in a saucepan must be brought to a boil. After that, the jam should be mixed regularly. Otherwise, the treat will start to burn. Do not be afraid that the jam will dry. Water and, of course, juice of this simply will not allow. Cook this dainty from 2 to 3 hours. It all depends on the width of the bottom of the tank.

For a couple of minutes to the full readiness of the composition it is necessary to add citric acid and mix everything thoroughly. When the blade of wood begins to leave a trace on the surface of the mass, it is necessary to increase the fire and boil the jam for another three minutes. After that, you can turn off the gas. Jam cherry is almost ready. After cooking it should cool down a little.

How to store

The finished jam should be stored exclusively in a glass, preferably sterilized container. You can leave a few jars for eating snacks in the near future. They can not be rolled. It is enough to close tight nylon caps. The rest is jam from cherries is better to roll. So it will be better kept and will not be covered with mold after a while. For this, any metal covers are suitable.
