How to connect an electric stove by yourself?

Before connecting the electric stove, it is necessary to check whether any parts of the package remain in it, or on it: polyethylene, polystyrene or cardboard. This procedure is necessary to ensure that when the appliance is switched on, they do not melt or burn. Do not throw away the packaging, very often in the exchange and return of goods, the store requires a full set of packaging materials.

Depending on what type of electric stove you have purchased - built-in or free-standing, some installation rules change.

Built-in stove is different in that it takes up a little space in the kitchen, and the possibility of its installation inside the kitchen furniture. When installing on a solid base, it is necessary to provide a gap between the plate and the back wall itself. The size of the gap should be at least 4.5 centimeters - this is necessary to ensure unimpeded ventilation. The furniture, which will be in direct contact with the electric stove, must be made of suitable non-combustible materials and withstand heating up to 100 ° C. After the cooker is already installed, it is necessary to check the horizontalness of its hob, this can be done using the usual building level. When installing a free-standing plate, you should provide easy access to it, this is necessary both for the convenience of the cooking process and for maintenance.

Before connecting the appliance, remember that it is a powerful electrical appliance. Therefore, you must follow certain rules and security measures. Different models that offer household electric cookers, differ in the ability to connect to one, two, or three phases.

How to connect an electric stove to an electrical network with a capacity of 220 - 380 V?

In order to safely connect this appliance to a line with this voltage level, you should make sure that the power of the input circuit breaker installed in the electrical panel corresponds to the power parameters of all electrical consumers in your home or apartment. In the electrical panel you need to install an individual circuit breaker separately for the electric stove. This switch must be rated at least 40A. Further it is necessary to lay separate three-core, for a network on 220 volt, or five-core copper wire, for a network voltage 380 volts. Wire cross-section should be not less than 4 mm and 6 mm, for 220V and 380V respectively, and it is laid from the electric board and directly to the power outlet.

Before connecting the electric stove, remember that it must be grounded. In the apartments the grounding wire is conducted from the electrical panel, in turn, in private houses it is conducted either from the electrical panel or directly grounded to the power outlet itself.

"Which electric cookers are better to choose?" - a question for everyone especially individual. It depends on your preferences and, first of all, on financial opportunities. The most preferable option for today are electric cookers with a glass-ceramic panel. Such plates are distinguished by sufficiently reliable and highly efficient heating elements. It is splendidly cleaned and very quickly heated, which allows to speed up the cooking process by an order of magnitude. Contrary to popular myths, the glass-ceramic panel of such a plate is quite strong and it is almost impossible to damage it when doing ordinary household affairs. Its only disadvantage for today is a relatively higher price in relation to plates with conventional cast-iron burners. But, in any case, the process of connecting the electric stove remains basically the same.
