Fodder for humans and animals: features, recommendations and reviews

The expression "fodder" is familiar, probably, to each person. Most people imagine what it means. In the conventional sense, such food is a donut, usually not too tasty, but contains enough calories to survive. Use such food can in different situations, both human beings and animals.

What is the composition?

Most often, the term "pasture" means grass and small shrubs. Also under this definition are all kinds of mushrooms and berries. To some extent, forage can be considered and various kinds of bugs, spiders and worms.

Of course, there are other varieties of such food, suitable for animals or humans. Therefore, it is quite difficult to disassemble the fodder by composition. The concept is very broad, so it can get under a variety of food. Below and understand what specifically can be considered such food in this or that situation.

Dumpling for animals

For livestock and poultry, such food is practically any herb. It can be nettles, quinoa, mint, leek, spurge, dandelions, etc. For cattle and MPA in summer, the fodder is one of the main sources of calories. Most of the day, cows, goats and sheep graze in pastures.

Of course, free food - this is good for various kinds of poultry (such, for example, as turkeys or chickens) food. и в этом случае может помочь сэкономить фермеру. In this case, the fodder can help save the farmer. A lot of owners of household plots are letting the bird to feed in the yard and on the street.

With some stretch of pasture, water plants can be mentioned. They eat domestic ducks and geese. Such feed also allows the owners of household plots to save on the ration of the bred poultry. Farmers are not allowed to go to the fodder only rabbits. Even pigs are often allowed to wander around the field and search for themselves something edible.

Waste

Sometimes under the notion of "fodder" for animals, strange things can happen. In India, for example, it is known that cows freely roam the streets of cities and villages. Of course, no one feeds these sacred animals specially for the local population. Therefore, heifers and bulls are forced to feed on landfills, of which there is simply a huge amount in this country. Thus, household food waste can sometimes also be brought under the definition of a forage.

Russia is not much richer than India. Fortunately, cows do not walk around the streets in our country. But all sorts of trash can be a good help for the same cats and dogs. Of course, this is not too good. But, unfortunately, Russia does not have the opportunity to keep shelters for pets as it is, for example, done in the US and developed countries of Europe.

Fodder for humans

For people, such food is most often quinoa or nettle. For example, only in the past century the starving population of Russia had to eat this kind of forage twice: in the 30s of the last century and during the Second World War. From nettle and quinoa, soups were cooked, herbal cakes made, and so on.

Fodder in the forest

Of course, the free food can be used by man not only in difficult historical periods. In life, everything is different, and often you have to go for such food, for example, lost in the woods. In this case, for the maintenance of forces, in addition to nettle and quinoa, grasses such as sorrel, cow-grass, sour, cabbage, field cabbage or even plantain and clover can also be used.

A good legume for a man lost in the forest is also berries such as wild rose, raspberry, blackberries, junipers, cranberries, etc. Of course, in groves and oak forests, among other things, you can find a variety of mushrooms - podberezoviki, White, ryadovki, boletus, russula.

Fodder forage in the steppe

In the steppe, it is, of course, more difficult to get lost, than in the forest, but still it is possible. In such a place, bird eggs (for example, larks), cereals, kidneys of elm, wild garlic, threshing, hazel grouse can become the fodder. It is also possible to support forces with cannabis seeds.

Nomadic peoples in ancient times caught from the holes of ground squirrels, roasted them at the stake and ate them. The meat of these animals in this case can also be attributed to the bottom fodder. But it is, of course, only worth it when absolutely necessary. Gophers are carriers of many diseases.

After the rain, mushrooms appear in the steppe, as well as in the forest. Most often these are raincoats or champignons. Also in the steppe there are quite edible rows and hangers.

Dammy food by the sea

In such places, finding food is much easier than in many others. Feeding by the forage at the sea is a relatively simple matter. For example, on coastal meadows, such edible and delicious plants as savage parsley, sailor, mertensia, ration, garlic grow in abundance.

Actually on the beach, the fodder can be used by all kinds of mollusks - mussels, nuatella, natiki. The meat of these marine creatures is very nutritious, but it should be consumed with caution and in not too large quantities. Many mollusks, including mussels, are able to accumulate poisonous or harmful substances to humans in the tissues of their bodies. Of course, near the sea, a variety of aquatic plants can serve as a forage. Edible, for example, kelp, alaria, ulva, "bubbles" fukusov.

In the tundra

In such localities, finding something that falls under the definition of "pasture", of course, is difficult. However, there are plants that are good for eating as livestock. For example, all sorts of lichens are a very good feed for reindeer. The most common and known species of such plants is the crucible.

The meaning of the expression in a figurative sense

Thus, the fodder is, first of all, the found free food, most often of vegetable origin. However, this expression once had a slightly different meaning. Earlier in Russia, all voivods and chiefs, who received posts in the cities, were kept at the expense of the population. In particular, such places were attractive for representatives of impoverished aristocratic families. For obvious reasons, these posts were called "fodder". Often they brought very good incomes.
