Erythematous gastropathy: treatment methods

Absolutely all diseases of the gastrointestinal tract fall under the general term "gastropathy" . Erythematous gastropathy is the same chronic gastritis, refers to the inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract. The lesions can be either minor or extensive. In some cases, gastropathy leads to the development of endoscopic deudenopathy (ED) - the defeat of the inflammatory process of the duodenum.

Diagnosis and treatment of erythematous gastropathy

A procedure known as endoscopy (designed to examine the internal organs and areas of the gastrointestinal tract by introducing an endoscopic probe through the oral cavity) is the main method used to assist in the diagnosis of this disease. The second method, which can be diagnosed erythematous gastropathy, is a colonoscopy - a medical procedure designed to examine the condition of the internal surfaces of the colon. Sometimes, depending on the size of the affected surfaces, the first and second methods can be simultaneously used to accurately diagnose the disease.

Treatment of erythematous gastropathy may include surgery (the most aggressive method) or another procedure known as endoscopic resection of the mucosa, which can also be used in the diagnosis process. The procedure for endoscopic resection of the mucosa can be performed through the mouth or anus, depending on which part of the gastrointestinal tract has pathological growths that need to be removed. As a diagnostic procedure, endoscopic resection of the mucous membrane is carried out in cases where the lesions are too large for carrying out other diagnostic methods.

Erythematous gastropathy: treatment with endoscopic resection of the mucosa

Endoscopic resection of the mucosa is performed using a long narrow tube equipped with a video camera, a light source and the necessary tools. The tube is installed in the patient's throat, the goal being to remove lesions that are in the stomach, small intestine or esophagus. This approach to treatment is less invasive than surgery to remove pathological tissue, and has fewer risks.

If erythematous gastropathy involves surgical treatment, then cuts (with subsequent scars) and anesthesia will be required. Thus, Surgery is a more aggressive method and has greater risks, including infection and potential death.

Complications after endoscopic resection of the mucosa

The most common complication that can occur after endoscopic resection of the mucosa is a possible bleeding. However, it is eliminated during the procedure. Also, endoscopic resection of the mucosa may result in perforation or narrowing of the esophagus. Similar injuries to the esophagus during the procedure and its narrowing can cause difficulty in swallowing, so the ways of eliminating the problem are considered on the spot.

Erythematous gastropathy, as a rule, is treated successfully, but in some cases after the treatment session the patient may have vomiting with blood, bright red blood in the stool, black stools, fever, chills, loss of consciousness, chest pain or shortness of breath. If any of the above conditions appear, it is necessary to urgently contact your doctor.
