Engine cushion as a guarantee of comfort and safety

No car will function without basic parts such as engine and gearbox. For fastening each of them an engine cushion is used, which ensures maximum grip of the mechanism with the car body. Cushioning depends on the model and year of production, so they can be divided into front and rear, as well as left and right.

Any engine cushion is a kind of shock absorber, which regulates the operation of all the internal parts of the car. It consists of two elements, which are metal and rubber of high strength. Thanks to the first component, the engine cushion most reliably fixes any part, does not allow it to be displaced during movement, and also during braking of the machine. The metal case is attached to the motor from three sides, and to the gearbox - from two, and connects these parts to the body. Rubber, which is part of the pillows, has a damping effect, reduces the degree of vibration and wear of internal parts. Among the new types of pillows are also hydraulic, filled with glycol or other type of liquid. Such details are used less often, although their technical characteristics are quite impressive.

The operational life of the engine supports depends on the mileage, as well as on how the machine is operated. Often, such details fail due to the fact that they accumulate a lot of road debris, dust and dirt. This leads to the fact that rubber hardens, later it gradually disconnects from the metal case and becomes unusable. It is the front engine cushion that most often becomes soiled and breaks down faster. Therefore, it is important to monitor its condition very carefully, checking not only the rubber, but also the metal, which can be damaged by corrosion, rust or engine oils.

The rear engine cushion does not get so dirty, its rubber wears out less often, and the iron retains its pristine characteristics longer. However, the condition of this part should also be constantly tested, because any defects can lead to an undesirable breakdown, which can happen to the car at the most inopportune moment. Checking and replacing the engine cushions must be done in the showroom, and not try to do it yourself. Otherwise, it is possible to damage some parts, due to which the machine functions.

A sign that some engine cushion is out of order, flew off or damaged, there may be various noises in its operation and vibration. Often a sign of breakage of a given part is considered to be shocks that occur during ignition, as well as during braking. Also, while driving, a faulty engine cushion can cause a knock under the hood, which will be felt in the car's interior. In such cases, the replacement of pillows is simply necessary, because they are responsible for the safe operation of the machine.
