What is the use of light-reflecting paint?

With the advent of a large number of vehicles on the roads, light-reflecting paint has gained particular popularity. Thanks to its unique composition, it allows drivers and pedestrians to avoid an emergency even in Conditions of the dark time of the day. However, this variety of paint has several types, which differ significantly from one another in their properties and direct use. To have an accurate idea of what and in what cases you can apply, you need to better understand this topic.

Fluorescent reflective paint differs from all others in that it can emit a soft glow even in the absence of any additional source of ultraviolet radiation. This substance works in absolute autonomous mode, so it does not even require the car's lights to be turned on.

Fluorescent light-reflecting paints operate on a slightly different principle. You will see the effect only if a ray from an ultraviolet source hits the object or surface covered by this substance.

Most noticeably, such colors will be on the side from which the glow is directed. That's why they are so often used to design bicycles, baby carriages and even clothes. In the latter case, we mean not only workers who carry out their professional activities at night near the road. Quite often this small cunning is used even by ordinary pedestrians, so that drivers can see them in advance on the track.

Reflective paint has a second name, why the essence of the matter does not change much. This substance is also called a retroreflective paint. It is also actively used for road marking, so that in the dark the driver could navigate well in space and not miss a turn. If there are any repairs on the track Work, then all the signs that block the way are compulsorily formed using this particular paint.

Road marking is applied in two stages. Reflective paint is spread only by the top layer. Under it, as a rule, the usual marking of white color is applied. Such a composition has a long service life. As the retro-reflective layer will be erased from the regular impact of car tires on it , it will need to be updated. This will ensure a minimal risk of an accident on this section of the road.

Reflective paint has a fairly simple composition and is not a toxic substance. It is made from a special pigment and the most ordinary clear varnish. All mixed in a 1: 3 ratio. The basis for such a varnish can be any: polyurethane, acrylic, alkyd. This will not affect the retro-reflective pigment, which is the main component of the paint. But a variety of varnish varies depending on what surface the composition will be applied to. Incorrect approach to the selection is fraught with the fact that the paint will not last long - it will have to be updated regularly.
