Demodectic eyes.

Eye disease, caused by a ciliary mite or a stern bruised, is called demodecosis. The disease affects mainly the eyelids and eyelashes, but it can also spread to the forehead, face, nasolabial folds, chin, eyebrows and external ear canals. Demodectic eyes are more common in people suffering from chronic diseases of the stomach, in persons with weakened immunity, with refractive pathology and in elderly people.

The tick that causes the disease, eats the secrets of the sebaceous glands. At 30-40 degrees, it is activated, therefore, demodicosis of the eyes is exacerbated mainly in summer, at maximum air temperature, after prolonged exposure to heat, after taking a hot bath, etc. Ticks can live for a long time in vegetable oil, cosmetic cream or petroleum jelly. Ether, chloroform, tar, carbolic acid, kreazol kill it instantly, and alcohol - after 4 minutes.

Symptoms of the disease

Demodectic eyes are manifested as follows: redness of the skin, expansion of the surface vessels, peeling. Patients complain of itching in the eyebrows and eyelids, which is intensified by exposure to heat, as well as burning, tingling, often there is a sense of foreign body presence in the eyes (or sand), eyelid heaviness, foamy discharge in the corners of the eyes throughout the day and "caustic "Separated in the morning.

Demodicosis of the eye causes a dysfunction of the glands of the eyelid, which leads to a decrease in the layer of the tear film and promotes the development of the "dry eye" syndrome.

Detection of ailment

Diagnosis of the disease is carried out by an oculist on the basis of a laboratory analysis of eyelashes.

Treatment of demodectic eye

Getting rid of the disease is possible with prolonged therapy and strict observance of the rules of personal hygiene.

  • During evening wash and after sleep, rinse eyes with warm water, then wipe them with a disposable napkin or a clean towel designed for individual use. 7 days instill under the lower eyelid of the drop "Torbamix".
  • After this procedure, wipe the lower and upper eyelid tincture of calendula. Do wiping as carefully as possible to prevent burning eyes.
  • After a while, apply a small layer of ointment "Demalon" to the edges of the eyelids. This procedure is more convenient to make a cotton swab. Make sure that the product does not appear on the mucous membrane of the eye, as this can cause irritation. Ointment should be left on the eyelids for the whole day. Its value lies in the fact that it blocks the ingress of oxygen into tissues and contributes to the rapid dying of mites.
  • Before going to bed, wash your face with warm water and soap (well, if it is antibacterial), thoroughly wash your eyelids and repeat all of the above procedures, with which you can overcome demodectic eyes.

Treatment is carried out for 45 days. At this time, do not forget to carry out additional sanitary and hygienic measures:

  • Treat the skin 1-2 times a day with tincture of eucalyptus or alcohol-containing lotion (at least 40-50 °). This procedure will disinfect and remove the parasites and their eggs that are on the skin.
  • Pillow for sleep cover with linen or gauze cloth. Do not forget to iron it with a hot iron every day. This will destroy the mites that have fallen on its surface.
  • Daily treat the earrings with a soap solution, and shaving accessories with alcohol, since these devices can also be infected.

Folk remedies

  • Tangerine flowers (a tablespoon) brew 200ml of boiled water and leave to infuse for 40 minutes. Bury the agent 3 times a day for 2 drops. To achieve greater efficiency, swollen flowers can be put on your eyelids for 30 minutes. Treatment should be conducted for at least two weeks.
  • For 1, 5 months, make compresses from aloe juice. Apply gauze moistened in it every other day for 15 minutes.
