general information

In Kazan there are two railway stations: Kazan-1 (Kazan-Passenger), Kazan-2 (Rebellion-Passenger). The first (main) station is located on the station square. Also in the city there are three bus stations: "Central", "South" and "East".

First of all, we will present in greater detail the most important transport junction - the railway station Kazan-1.

Description of the railway station

Through the station Kazan-1 thousands of people come and go, and tons of goods are transported practically in all directions of the territory of the Russian Federation.

Serving the Kazan station 36 pairs of long-distance trains. Thirteen of them are wagons of local formation. There are also suburban electric trains and rail buses (diesel trains) sent in the eastern and western directions from the dead-end platforms. In total there are 15 tracks at the station, several platforms and an uncovered overground crossing.

In total, over 8 million passengers are serviced by the Kazan railway station (address - Privokzalnaya square, 1). Its territory is fenced, and the entrance to the station is accessible only for passengers with tickets and accompanying. This is strictly controlled. Through the square, there are all kinds of public transport, except the metro.

A huge network of railway branches stretches across Russia through this station, covering the Central Region, the South, the Volga Region, Siberia, the Far East.

At a convenient location is the railway station Kazan. Buses of many city routes run through the station square. They deliver passengers to various parts of the city without a transfer.

History of the station

The railway station has a very convenient location. It is located in the historical center of Kazan. Only 10 minutes walk to the magnificent complex - Kazan Kremlin - the most important historical sight of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. Of course, there are plans in the Kazan administration to move the railway station to another area - to Vorovsky Street, to unload the city center. But this is still in the long-term plans.

The railway station was built in 1893 simultaneously with the laying of the first railroad tracks. There is a version that the red building of the station, perfectly functioning till now, was designed by the Kazan architect Heinrich Bernardovich Rush. But there is no evidence of this fact, since there are no written confirmations.

All the stations in Kazan have a rather interesting history. After the fire that occurred in 1992, only the foundation and walls remained from the red building of the main station. It was restored again, and Kazan again meets its guests in the renovated building. It should be noted that two beautiful white marble snow leopards guard the entrance to the building itself. And they are amazingly graceful and beautiful cats.

Suburban Railway Station

Near the ancient red station there is a building of a suburban railway station, renovated in 2005, to the millennium of the city of Kazan. From the old building after the reconstruction, only a mosaic panel, located on one of the walls, has been preserved. It represents the image of a girl in a beautiful national Tatar apparel.

In the inner rooms there are turnstiles, thanks to which the platform simply can not pass, only with tickets. On electric trains (suburban) you can go in the western and eastern directions, including getting to neighboring regions and republics (Chuvashia, Kirov region, Mari El).

Kazan (train station) - Airport (and back) is a relatively new route, along which a convenient, modern high-speed train operates.

Airport

Airport Kazan is a modern airport (international) of federal significance. It is located near the village of Stolbishche, 26 kilometers (south-east direction) from the capital. Serves flights throughout Russia, near abroad, as well as in the UAE, Turkey, Thailand, Finland, Spain, Greece and other countries. Its passenger traffic is about 2 million people a year. Kazan Airport is the first airport in Russia to receive the status of 4 stars.

Bus stations

Kazan railway stations meet all modern requirements for passenger service.

The central bus station of Kazan (str. Devyataeva), located 2.5 km from the central part of the city, was built in 1964. For many years the geography of flights has expanded, and the need to create a large number of new routes has grown. The city grew, and it became clear that there was a need to modernize the station.

Today, the bus station "Central" is a modern complex, consisting of three floors. There is a spacious waiting room, conveniently located cash desks. The building is equipped with all necessary facilities.

The bus station "Yuzhny", located on the Orenburg highway (from the center of 8.5 km), is also the largest in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. It was built relatively recently. Already today from here you can go to 44 intercity and regional destinations, mostly - southern (hence the name).

Conclusion

The airport, train stations of Kazan (both auto- and railway) successfully perform their functions and quite well cope with the numerous passenger traffic. Due to their services, a huge number of people move comfortably not only throughout the country, but also get to foreign countries.
