"Boiler Station Kamchatka" in St. Petersburg is a club where rock concerts are held today. He gained fame thanks to Victor Tsoi. Once it was a real boiler room, in which a rock star worked as a stoker.

About the club

Kamchatka Club (St. Petersburg) is a former boiler house, which today is a place of pilgrimage for a huge number of fans of rock music and the legend of this genre by Viktor Tsoi. Mostly they are residents of the former USSR. The club became a real memorial. Here are stored personal belongings of Viktor Tsoi. Alexei Rybin, the former guitarist of the Kino group, wrote the book Kamchatka, which he dedicated to this boiler house. In it, he talks about those who have frequented this institution. Many of the stokers who worked here played guitars, wrote poems, but the stars, except for V. Tsoi, neither before nor after this did not work out.

In this boiler house, several films were shot: "Rock" in 1987 and two paintings in 2010 - "Classmates" and "Needle Remix".

History of creation

Director of "Kamchatka" is Sergey Firsov. He worked here as a stoker at the same time as V. Tsoi. Soon A. Bashlachev, A. Mishin and many others came to work here. The boiler house became the venue for unofficial rock concerts. After a while, the V. Tsoi Museum was opened here.

In 2006, the building where the club "Kamchatka" (St. Petersburg) is located, the city authorities transferred to a private firm that planned to demolish it and build a hotel in its place. In 2007, representatives of various youth movements, as well as fans of V. Tsoi and rock music, defended the boiler house and ensured that it was preserved.

In 2013, the building was recognized as an emergency. Again there was a threat of his demolition. But the city authorities promised that this will not happen.

Victor Tsoy

Choi is a legend of Russian rock. He was the author of songs, guitarist and artist. He founded the famous rock band "Kino". With his participation, several films were shot.

Victor was born in Leningrad. His mother was a teacher of physical education, and his father was an engineer of Korean origin.

V. Tsoi studied at an art school, from which he was expelled for poor progress. He received a specialty in woodworking at the SSPTU-61. He was a fan of Vladimir Vysotsky, M. Boyarsky and Bruce Lee. I was engaged in martial arts.

His first album was recorded by the musician in 1981, Boris Grebenshchikov and "Aquarium" took part in its creation. At the same time, the "Kino" group was founded, which was first called "Garin and Hyperboloids". Soon the first concert of V. Tsoi and his team took place at the rock festival.

In 1990, Viktor Tsoi was killed in a car accident in Latvia. As established by the investigation, from exhaustion, he fell asleep behind the wheel. The death of the musician was a shock to his many admirers.

There is even a sofa on which he sat, composed and often slept, he appears even in the famous movie "Needle".

Of the minuses - the room is very small, dark and there is not enough space. And also very expensive drinks in the bar. There are opinions that earlier it was much better and more interesting, and recently everything was not as good as before. Quite a few who believe that the club "Kamchatka" (St. Petersburg) today is good only as a museum, but listen to music and communicate better elsewhere. The attitude of some administrators to some visitors is disturbing. One gets the impression that they do not care much for Victor Tsoi and his admirers, they just need to sell more beer and earn money. The room is dirty and there is always smoky. Songs of V. Tsoi to order in the bar to refuse. During the concerts, the club's administration often does not allow performing artists to perform encores, simply turning off the equipment. The exhibits in the museum are not enough, but, on the other hand, at least it is - it's already good, you can touch things that belonged to the legend of Russian rock, and sit on his sofa.

In addition to beer in the bar there are souvenirs, which depict Viktor Tsoi and the "Cinema" group. Among them - mugs, magnets, bracelets, T-shirts, badges.

Recently in the club a monument to V. Tsoi was erected for the joy of his fans.
