How to Get a Schengen Visa to Poland During Euro 2012?

The grand football tournament of Euro 2012 excites the imagination of a million fans. For this event, not only the teams are preparing for the event, but also their loyal fans and fans, ready to follow their idols even to the end of the world. The fourteenth European Championship will be held in two countries simultaneously: in Ukraine and in Poland. Both states are famous for their hospitality and centuries-old traditions, but in addition to the laws of hospitality, we should not forget about the administrative and legal norms of these countries.

We can only welcome the decision of the Polish government on a sparing visa control regime for Ukrainian citizens and inveterate football fans for the period of the co-hosted football championship 2012. Question: how to get a Schengen visa for Ukrainian fans will disappear by itself, it will be enough to present a ticket to the championship. And although negotiations were initially held on the complete abolition of visas, at the meeting of the leadership of the consular services of the two states, the decision was finally made that the idea of temporary liquidation of visas for Ukrainians was unacceptable. Such a decision is quite expected and to some extent understandable and justified, especially from the economic point of view. The majority of Ukrainian and Polish experts treat with a healthy share of skepticism about the assumptions that Ukrainian citizens use a work visa to Poland for transit to Western Europe. The view that Ukraine is a risk of migratory encroachments has no facts and is unfounded. However, the Warsaw government did not dare to completely abolish the visa regime even for the period of the football championship of Euro 2012.

During numerous talks between the two countries, the question was raised that over the past 2010, Ukrainians had issued more than three hundred thousand visa permits, which in turn accounts for 33% of the total number of issued visas in Ukraine by the countries that are members of the Schengen zone. The Ukrainian embassy also made a proposal to the Polish authorities to abolish consular fees when issuing national long-term visas. Polish representatives were provided with a ready draft of the above-mentioned bilateral agreement.

And yet, how to get a Schengen visa, if an ordinary Ukrainian fan of world football wants to co-attend on it personally? To do this, it is enough to purchase a ticket, and it will be a pass-through document for entry into the territory of the Polish state. Due to the circumstances, the agitation campaign is planned, which encourages the owners of priceless tickets in advance, starting from March 2012, to apply to the Polish representative offices in Ukraine in order to find out how to obtain a Schengen visa to Poland. Work is under way to expand the list of persons entitled to use the simplified visa regime for visiting the Polish Republic for the period of Euro 2012.

Despite the easing in the procedure for issuing Schengen visas, this process takes a certain amount of time and requires money. This procedure will require you from 6 to 15 days in stock and 35 euros to pay for services. Another important nuance in obtaining a visa to Poland is the availability of funds, based on the fact that the accepted norm of daily expenses is 100 gold or 25 euros. If your financial prospects seem unconvincing and inadequate to the embassy's employees, they will shorten the validity of the visa at their discretion. In case of a favorable outcome, the validity period of the visa will be determined taking into account the type of ticket granted, that is, depending on the number of matches for which the ticket is distributed.
