But still, every hostess wants to show off not only culinary but also decorating skills, and then the question arises: how to decorate a cake at home, to make it tasty and beautiful? Here simple and very effective methods come to the rescue - decorating cakes with fruits, jelly and marmalade. Decorating cakes with fruit is perhaps the simplest and most beautiful way to make not only a delicious cake, but also very attractive. Moreover, this does not require special skill. Fruits are beautiful in themselves with their colors, freshness, mouth-watering forms. They need to be slightly "adjusted", to enhance the attractiveness of certain methods, to turn a cake into a masterpiece that stimulates appetite, from which it will be impossible to tear off the view. How to decorate a fruit cake ? Here the main sense of proportion, artistic taste and imagination.

The decoration of fruit cakes opens up an unlimited field for creativity and improvisation. Any fruit in any form can be safely used for decoration. Careful hostesses still in the early autumn, making blanks for the winter from vegetables and fruits, take care of preparing two or three jars of candied fruits especially for ornaments. But in the stores fresh fruits are available all year round, so it is not necessary to cook them in advance in syrup. You can make the necessary preparations just before the decoration or, at worst, use the ready-made compote, it will also work.

The decorations for the fruit cake are delicious, very beautiful and much more useful than multi-layer oily creamy flower towers. As a cake-basis cakes from any test will approach. Sometimes the top layer of fruit, jelly or marmalade is two thirds of the whole cake and almost completely determines its taste. Therefore, by combining several biscuit or sand cakes in the form of a basket and filling it with fruits and nuts, you can get a culinary masterpiece that leads the guests into a rapturous delight.

So, at first we bake the basis, making in the cakes a groove in the form of a basket. Now fill this basket with any fruits and berries. Small berries (currants, strawberries, gooseberries, blackberries, etc.) are left in their original form. We cut the large fruits (oranges, apples, pears, etc.) into thin circles and cook them in sugar syrup until they become soft, but they will retain their shape and do not spread. From these circles we will then add flower heads: roses, lilies, water lilies. Vine, plums cut into halves, kiwi regimen in circles or figuratively cut out denticles. After all the fruits are sliced and cooked in syrup, proceed to the design of the basket. At the bottom of the basket or on the surface of the upper crust, we apply a layer of cream, jam or jam, then lay the fruit in random order so that the eye-pleasing composition is obtained. Here you can start from the middle, collecting in the center of larger fruits in the form of flowers, and to the edges will lay a scattering of smaller ones. Very effectively on the flat surface of the cake looks "cornucopia" - fruit, laid half-circle on one side, starting from the largest and ending with the small ones. After the decoration of the cakes with fruits is completed, they are covered with a thin layer of melted confiture or jelly. To do this, in a saucepan on the stove, melt the confiture, and then apply a warm mass to the fruit decor, or make the fruit jelly according to the recipe and while it is still warm, but not hot, also apply a brush to fresh fruit. Fruits, cooked in syrup, do not need gelling. They will look more impressive, lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar.

You can decorate with fruits not only cakes, but also small confectionery. The principle of decoration and preparation is the same. For the first time everything can turn out not quite as it was intended, but the beauty of the fruit decor is that, as if the product was not elegant or extremely simple, it will be very attractive and tasty in any case.
