Cytoflavin. Instructions

Cytoflavin (in ampoules) includes succinic acid, riboflavin mononucleotide, nicotinamide, riboxin as active ingredients. The drug, in addition to the solution for injection, is also available in tablet form.

The "Cytoflavin" drug describes the instruction as a metabolic medication that has antioxidant activity. The agent positively influences the processes of energy formation in cells, normalizes the activity of enzymes and reduces the production of free radicals. The medication is able to activate cerebral blood flow, stimulate metabolic processes in the central nervous system. In addition, the drug has a positive effect on the bioelectric activity of the brain.

Characterizing the agent "Cytoflavin", the instruction also indicates its property to favorably influence the indices of the neurological status: to reduce the severity of cochleovestibular, vestibular, cephalic, asthenic syndrome. The drug also neutralizes disturbances of emotional-strong-willed character (lowers anxiety, depression level).

The medicine is able to quickly awaken the patient with post-amniotic oppression of the function of consciousness. During the first twelve hours from the onset of the stroke, the drug "Cytoflavin" (the use of intravenous injection) reduces the foci of necrotic and ischemic processes in the lesion. The drug at the same time contributes to the restoration of the neurological status and the reduction in the probability of disability in the future.

The drug "Cytoflavin" recommends the instruction for acute disorders in the cerebral circulation and their consequences, vascular (dyscirculatory) encephalopathy of the first and second stage, hypoxic and toxic encephalopathy in chronic and acute poisoning, in post-amniotic oppression of consciousness, and against endotoxicosis.

Contraindicated medication for patients with mechanical ventilation, feeding women, with a decrease in partial oxygen pressure in the arterial blood.

With hyperuricemia, gout, nephrolithiasis, the drug is administered with caution.

The agent "Cytoflavin" instruction allows for use during pregnancy in the absence of allergy to components.

With a blood circulation disorder in the brain of an acute course, the drug is administered intravenously drip. Infusion is carried out at a dose of ten milligrams. The drug is diluted in 200 ml of a 5% solution of glucose or in saline solution. Injections are performed twice a day. The duration of therapy is ten days. Twenty ampoules of the drug are designed for the course.

In comatose conditions, a single dosage can be increased to twenty milligrams.

It is recommended to prescribe the drug "Cytoflavin" at the earliest possible time after a stroke. At the beginning of therapy in a later period, the effect becomes less pronounced.

Use of the medicine can cause negative consequences. However, as practice shows, the drug is tolerated well enough.

Most often, adverse events are noted with rapid dropping of the drug. To undesirable reactions, in particular, include perspiration in the throat, dryness or bitterness in the mouth, a feeling of heat, flushing of the skin of different severity. Usually the symptoms do not require withdrawal of the drug.

With prolonged use is likely the development of hyperuricemia, transient hypoglycemia, perhaps also an exacerbation of gout.

Rarely, the drug "Cytoflavin" causes short pain in epigastrium and chest, dizziness, difficulty breathing, headache, allergic reactions.

Keep the drug at a temperature of no more than twenty-five degrees, in a dark place inaccessible to children.
