Pharmaceutical preparation "Papazol" the instruction on application includes anti-hypertensive agents, antispasmodics and myotropic antispasmodics to clinical and pharmacological groups. Thus, this medication produces an antispasmodic, hypotensive and vasodilating effect.

The drug is available in the form of tablets (white or with a greyish tinge, minor inclusions are allowed), distributed in cardboard packs of ten in each.

The composition of the drug is represented by papaverine (0.03 grams in each tablet) and imidazole derivative - bendazole (similar amount - 0.03 g / tab.). The first component is able to block intracellular phosphodiesterase and creatine phosphokinase of smooth muscle vessels, cause accumulation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate, and provide vasodilator action. Bendazole affects the smooth muscles of the vascular walls due to the effect exerted on imidazole receptors. This substance also contributes to the active reduction of blood pressure and the content of smooth muscle in free calcium.

Auxiliary component is potato starch, calcium stearate, milk sugar.

The pharmaceutical product in question is taken orally. Adult patients are shown one to two tablets up to three times a day.

It is noted that with the parallel administration of this drug and antispasmodics, sedative drugs, diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants, procainamide, reserpine or quinidine, the increase in the severity of the hypotensive effect is not excluded. It was also found that adsorptive, enveloping and astringent drugs lower the level of absorption in the gastrointestinal tract of the drug "Papazol".

The instruction notes that when it is used, undesirable effects such as nausea and irregular stools may occur. Also, such a malfunction of the central nervous system as dizziness is documented. Some patients had arrhythmia, decreased myocardial contractility, AV blockade, allergic reactions, increased sweating.
