Biography of Schubert: the difficult life of the great composer

Very interesting for studying the biography of Schubert. He was born on January 31, 1797 in the suburbs of Vienna. His father worked as a schoolteacher, he was a very hardworking and decent person. The older sons chose their father's path, the same way was prepared for Franz. However, they loved music in their house. So, a brief biography of Schubert ...

Father taught Franz to play the violin, the brother - to the clavier, the church regent taught him the theory and taught the game on the organ. Soon it became clear to households that Franz was extraordinarily gifted, so at the age of 11 he began to study at the church and singing school. There was an orchestra in which pupils played. Soon already, Franz performed the first violin part and even conducted.

In 1810 the guy wrote the first composition, and it becomes clear that Schubert is a composer. His biography says that the passion for music in him has grown so strong that over time he ousted other interests. The young man dropped out of school after five years, provoking the father's anger. Schubert's biography tells that, conceding to his father, he enters a teacher's seminary, and then works as an assistant teacher. However, all the hopes of his father to make a man from Franz with a good and reliable income were in vain.

Biography Schubert in the period from 1814 to 1817 years - one of the most active phases of his work. At the end of this time, he already authored 7 sonatas, 5 symphonies and about 300 songs, which everyone has heard. It would seem that a little more - and success is guaranteed. Franz gives up his service. The father goes into a rage, leaves him without funds and tears up all relations.

Biography Schubert tells us that he had to live with friends. Among them were famous composers, poets, artists. It was during this period that the famous "Schubertiades", that is, the evenings dedicated to the music of Franz, are held. In the circle of friends he played the piano, composing music on the move. However, these were difficult years. Schubert lived in unheated rooms and gave hated lessons so as not to die of hunger. Because of poverty, Franz was not able to marry - his beloved preferred him to a wealthy confectioner.

Schubert's biography testifies that in 1822 he wrote one of the best of his creations - "An Unfinished Symphony", and then a series of works "The Beautiful Miller." For a while, Franz returned to the family, but two years later he left again. Naive and trustful, he was not adapted to independent life. Schubert often became a victim of deception of his publishers, who frankly profited from it. The author of a huge and wonderful collection of songs, which were very popular among burghers even during his lifetime, barely made ends meet.

Schubert was not a virtuoso musician, like Beethoven or Mozart, and could only act as an accompanist of his tunes. The symphonies were never performed during the life of the composer. The circle of the "Schubertiades" has disintegrated, friends have got families. He did not know how to ask, but did not want to humble himself before influential personalities.

Franz was quite desperate and thought that perhaps in his old age he would have to ask for alms, but he was wrong. The composer did not know that he would not have an old age. But, despite all this, his creative activity is not weakening, and even on the contrary: Schubert's biography claims that his music becomes deeper, more expressive and large-scale. In 1828, friends organized a concert at which the orchestra played only his songs. He had a very big success. After that, Schubert again became full of grandiose plans and with renewed energy began to work on new compositions. However, a few months later he falls ill with typhoid and in November 1828 he dies.
