Beautiful dessert - pineapples in puff pastry

Is it possible to prepare a beautiful and tasty dessert without spending a few hours at the stove? It turns out, yes! An example of such a wonderful sweet dish can serve as pineapples in a puff pastry. This batch is unusually tasty, airy, and it will take no more than half an hour to prepare it, if all the necessary products are at hand.

Naturally, we need pineapples and puff pastry. Pineapples, it is best to use canned, cut into rings. In a large bank (850gr), as a rule, 12-15 of these rings, so we will get such a number of cakes.

Puff pastry, easiest, buy ready-made frozen. You need to choose a non-yeast version of this product. However, of course, the dough for baking can be prepared and independently, using the classic puff pastry recipe, with layering of layers of butter. However, this way of cooking will take a lot of time and then our pineapples in a puff pastry will be difficult to call a recipe for a fast cuisine.

There is another option - to prepare a "false" puff pastry. Dough prepared on this method, acquires a characteristic structure due to uneven distribution of oil. And although this option can not be called completely layered, the products from it are obtained no less tender and crumbly than when using a test prepared according to a classic recipe.

To make a "quick" puff pastry, you need 2 cups of flour, just over a third of a glass of cold water, 200 grams of butter (you can take creamy margarine), a quarter of a teaspoon of salt and about half a tablespoon of lemon juice.

The oil must be cold, just taken out of the refrigerator. Cut it into pieces and put it in sifted flour. We begin to "chop" the oil with flour with a knife, making sure that the small chips will turn out. It is absolutely not recommended to rub this dough with your hands, as the oil will melt under the influence of body heat and the dough will not get as airy as it should be.

In a glass to pour cold water, dissolve in it salt and lemon juice, pour the liquid into the mixture of butter with flour and quickly knead the dough. Then put it in a bag of food film and put in the refrigerator for at least an hour. It is even better to prepare this dough in advance, for example, from the evening, and pineapples in puff pastry should be prepared in the morning.

Before you start to cut the cooked dough, it should be rolled into a flat cake, a little dusted with flour and folded into four layers, repeat this way 2-3 times. Then you can start cutting.

Prepared dough (independently cooked or thawed shop) is rolled into a layer about 0.7 cm thick and cut into narrow strips, about 1 cm wide.

In the meantime, you need to drain the liquid from a can of canned pineapple and put the rings on a paper towel to dry. Prepare a mixture of powdered sugar and cinnamon and roll in it prepared rings. If you do not like sweets, then pineapple can be dropped only in cinnamon or in a mixture of cinnamon and starch. Now wrap a piece of pineapple with a strip of dough, passing it through the inner hole. Strongly densely to lay layers of the dough it is not necessary, let in intervals the fruit pulp looks through. Do not try to cut too long strips, it will be uncomfortable to work. The dough can be perfectly glued on a ring of pineapple and in the finished form these "seams" will not be visible.

Prepared pineapples in a puff pastry spread on a baking sheet, covered with baking paper, smeared with vegetable oil. On the top of the strip of dough can be greased with egg yolk. Bake for 7-10 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees.

You can prepare pineapples in a variety of ways. For example, for a change, you can replace the puff pastry with yeast. Another option is pineapples in batter. To make this dessert you need to make a mixture of 150 grams of milk, a raw egg, a spoonful of sugar and a small amount of soda. In a liquid mixture, you can add vanilla sugar, and then gently enter about a glass of flour. Dough should resemble sour cream. Now dipped in a ready-made sauce dried on a napkin pineapple rings and send them to a frying pan with preheated vegetable oil. Fry until golden brown. Then put the finished rings on a napkin to remove excess oil. Before serving, sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and powdered sugar.
