Summary: Mikhail Sholokhov's "Another's Blood". Analysis of the work

It is difficult to write a heartfelt novel about something simple, for example, about youthful love, or about man's love for animals, or about the eternal attachment of parents to their child. But even more difficult to write about this story, so that there was nothing superfluous in it, but only what is needed for the plot. Anton Pavlovich Chekhov argued: in the story there should be no decorative details, each of its elements must "work" on the author's design. It was this work that managed to create Mikhail Sholokhov with a unique writer's brilliance. The focus is on its brief content. "Another's blood" is a story published in 1926.

Main character

The story "Alien Blood", the brief content of which we now consider, begins with a description of the life of the main character of the narrative - the grandfather of Gavrila. He is waiting for his son from the civil war of 1917. The grandfather lives not alone, but together with his wife, whose name is not disclosed to the reader. She is simply an "old woman" in the work. Parents do not lose hope. They are in every way preparing for the possible arrival of the son both morally and materially. Grandfather does not want to think that one of his closest people is no more, that his child died in the merciless and senseless "meat grinder" of the civil war. But everyday night awakenings say: Gavrila still knows the truth, but carefully conceals it from herself and from her old woman. This is the author's idea of the story "Alien Blood". The summary of the exposition of the work can not be recounted without mentioning these spiritual tortures of the hero.

String

Instead of Petro (that's the name of the son of elderly parents), his brother-soldier Prokhor returns to the village (she, naturally, is on the Don). He informs his grandfather and his old woman that their son is no more. He died in the war, like many others. This moment, when parents learn about the death of his son, can be considered a work string. To her also belongs the appearance in the stanitsa, in the yard of the grandfather, of three "prodigy", accompanied by the chairman. Grandfather Gavril did not know that the country's iron feet "stepping" prodrazverstka. Its main meaning is this: the state alienates food from the population, and then, according to its discretion and established norms, issues them back. As it is not difficult to understand, this is an anti-crisis measure. The food surplus was practiced several times by the Soviet authorities, Gavril's grandfather became a victim of one of the first such procedures. Only bread was taken from him.

But the guys sent by the new authorities did not have time to take everything they could carry. Suddenly, right next to the threshing floor, they were shot by an unknown person on a horse, and then he also suddenly disappeared. The grandfather at this time was heading to the house and was simply dumbfounded from such a development of events.

A little later, when he came to himself, the hero went to examine the defeated henchmen of Soviet power. And an amazing thing, but one of them, even after severe wounds, was breathing.

The main moral conflict. Disclosure of the main problems of the work

Despite the fact that we are only discussing a brief summary, Sholokhov's "Alien Blood", even in a shortened version, prompts the reader to comprehend the moral content of the work.

It is in this place of the story, where it turns out that one of the gunmen shot still beats heartlessly, when the old man probes his chest, MA. Sholokhov asks the reader an almost Christian question: "What to choose: good or evil, hatred or love?" Yes, the "reds" killed Gavril's son, but is this the reason not to save the boy who fell on the snow? Is the blond guy guilty between life and death to blame for this? Everyone, probably, will answer this question in his own way, but the grandfather chose good and love for his neighbor, so he took the young angel of the Civil War on his back and brought him into the house, which, of course, greatly scared his grandmother. Here, the tension and intrigue of the work reach its climax, it is felt even when the summary is read. "Another's blood" (its full version) captures even more.

Petro has died, long live Petro

The old folks were caring for their friend-friend for three months. When he regained consciousness, he told his story: he was called Nicholas, he was an orphan. He worked all his life (not too long) at the Urals iron foundry. Kolya was a convinced communist. The old men got emotional and said: "Since you have no one, stay, boy, with us, only now you will be invited to call your name Petro. Our son was Petro, and now you will be in his stead. " Nikolai easily made the old people such a favor, but promised only that he would live with them until the fall, but there it will be seen.

When Kolya-Petro recovered from physical and moral upheavals, he began to help his grandfather in the household. The old men were happy: they lost their son, but in "another's blood" they found one more.

The final of the story

Perhaps this is not very good in relation to the deceased child, but the old people became more attached to the newly-made Petro, feeling warmly to him and gradually forgetting the bitterness of loss. Nicholas not only evoked the love of these parents, but also gained their respect, for, despite the trauma (he had only one hand to work because of the wound), he worked for two.

But in the summer a letter was sent to Grandfather Gavril in the name of Kosykh Nikolay. The men from the factory sent Kolya "hello" and asked him for help. Kolya (because he was a respectable communist and an excellent man) lost his peace and sleep. On the one hand, he did not want to abandon the old people to the mercy of fate, and on the other, he was eager for his native penates.

Grandfather Gavril was a wise man, seeing the troubles of the son named, having shed a tear at the end, blessed Nikolai-Petro and released. The author's story ends with the farewell of the old man and his son, which means that his summary is also coming to an end. "Another's blood" Sholokhov - a truly wonderful work about parental love.
