Lada Granta Sport. Overview

The first pictures and rumors about a new modification of the Grants - Lada Granta Sport - appeared a couple of years ago. However, the production of the car was launched only in late February 2013. Release of the sports version of the Grant is carried out from the conveyor of the subsidiary company "AvtoVAZ" - to LLC "Lada MST".

The main changes in the model were engine, suspension, and also received a new interior design and exterior. Grant Sport has entered the sale in a single package, equipped with all the equipment that is in the luxury version of the Grants.

It is worth noting that the sports version of the car has indeed undergone significant changes, has become more powerful and dynamic. This was done primarily due to a new engine, which was based on a 16-valve engine from Priora. The volume of the engine is 1.6 liters. The power unit was subjected to some structural changes. In particular, the resistance of the intake and exhaust has decreased, other camshafts have become different, a new electronic control has appeared. Thanks to all these innovations, in Lada Grant Sport characteristics improved: it was possible to reach the power of the engine in 120 hp, and also the torque increased to 140 N / m. As a result of the transformations, the car accelerates to a maximum speed of 197 km / h, and to accelerate the car to 100 km / h is enough 9.5 seconds.

The transmission of the car is presented in the form of a 5-speed manual gearbox with a shortened main pair. Innovations in the latter allowed to improve the dynamic properties of the car when driving at low revs. Changed and suspension, she acquired her sports features. Greater stability on the roads was obtained as a result of an understated clearance of 160 mm.

The sports car also demanded a more reliable braking system. The front and rear wheels are fitted with 15-inch disc brakes. There is an anti-lock system. The camber of the rear wheels increased by 1 degree, which led to the expansion of their track. As a result of changes in the running gear of the Sports Grant, the car was able to deliver wider wheels, while not increasing the body arches.

In general, the body was saved in almost the original form. Has received a new design only a bumper, and also there were overlays on thresholds and a deflector on a luggage carrier. Multi-spoke alloy wheels also contributed to the creation of a sporty look.

The interior salon also remained practically the same. Responding to his style, only new sports seats were installed, and a red line appeared on the gearshift lever cover and chairs.

As a result of the development of domestic designers, a decent car came off the assembly line with an optimal price-quality ratio. Naturally, it is difficult to call it such a sport, it does not hold on to Lada Grant Sport, the characteristics do not fully meet the requirements of a modern sports unit. However, in terms of its technical performance and the appearance of the Grant, it strives for this class of cars.

Among the foreign cars Granta Sport can be compared with the Volkswagen Polo sedan and Hyundai Solaris.
