Salo is traditionally associated with Ukraine and Ukrainians, as its main amateurs and admirers. And though, indeed, the proverb never lost its relevance in Ukraine: "Salo is strength!", This product is also popular in England under the name "bacon", and the peritoneum and the finely can cook in Germany.

But! Baked bacon in the oven, yes with garlic, but with aromatic herbs is best obtained, so to speak, with the Ukrainian accent.

How to bake a roll to make it tender

"Yazychki"

In this recipe, two main and favorite ingredients of the people: choice potatoes and lard. Baked bacon in the oven has many variations, and this one is one of the most popular.

In medium sized potatoes, it is necessary to make incisions in the middle, but not to the end. In the resulting cracks put a piece of fat (after cooking it will look out, resembling a tongue), chopped garlic and spices to taste.

Bake for 30-40 minutes, depending on the size of the potatoes.
