ATO. Explanation of the abbreviation and its interpretation

Most recently in post-Soviet countries, few knew about the abbreviation of ATO. Decipherment (antiterrorist operation) is now familiar to everyone, because in Ukraine for more than a year there has been virtually no one declared war. But everything began much earlier.

The first "terrorists" Maidanovites

For the first time about ATO (the abbreviation is given above) in Ukraine they started talking on February 19, 2014, when the revolution in Kiev on the Independence Square was in full swing. The decision to conduct an anti-terrorist operation was taken by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

After several bloody days in the center of Kiev, then President Yanukovych fled the country to avoid falling into the hands of "people's justice." The new leaders who were nominated by the revolutionary Maidan came to power. The fighting in the Ukrainian capital stopped, like the action of the ATU, but time showed that this was only the beginning ...

Next in line Donetsk

Soon, supporters of the "Russian world" in the Crimea with the support of the Russian Black Sea Fleet are holding a referendum on the detachment of the peninsula from Ukraine. As a result of the referendum, the autonomous republic becomes part of the Russian Federation. After these events in the eastern regions of Ukraine the situation becomes no less intense: armed people with Russian flags and St. George ribbons seize state institutions and demand federalization. After a while, the situation becomes even hotter - militias decide to establish a Donetsk People's Republic by referendum.

Soon and. about. President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said that a military operation against "armed pro-Russian separatists and terrorists" begins. He argued that what is happening in Donetsk provoked deception by "Russian propaganda of Ukrainian citizens". A decision was also signed on the use of armed forces in the ATU. Decipherment (Ukraine has its own law "On Combating Terrorism") according to the law is as follows: a set of special means aimed at minimizing the consequences of the terrorist act.

The Consequences of the Establishment of the Lugansk People's Republic

Following the Donetsk, their republic was also decided to create supporters of the federalization of Lugansk. Thus, the ATO zone, the decoding of which began to lose its meaning, expanded. Now in half of the districts of these eastern regions were full-fledged military operations, which eventually became more and more like a war.

On the territory of the Donbass, real intelligence games began. Both the Ukrainian military and armed militiamen constantly tried to intercept conversations from the territory called "ATO zone". The decipherment of one of them, which was provided by the media to the Kiev authorities, testified to the involvement of the RF. The film recorded a conversation between the leaders of the DNR Strelkov and Bezler, who talked about the supply of Russian weapons to the Donbas. The recording figures say that the tapes are mounted. The Russian authorities, in turn, deny Russia's participation in this armed conflict.

When will the ATU end?

Deciphering conversations and continuous fighting did not lead to anything good. Luhansk and Donetsk regions are partially destroyed. The rescue circle in the current situation was made by Minsk, where several times representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, militias, Russia and Europe gathered for the talks. As a result of these meetings in the ATU zone (the abbreviation is now irrelevant in the current realities), armistice has already been established twice, the last of which continues today.

The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated that they are ready to give all regions of the country more powers at the local level, but this has not yet resolved the situation in the Donbass, which remains consistently complex. What will happen next, probably, is known only to "great politicians" and the Lord God.
