The film "Krepis": actors, roles, reviews and reviews

Despite the fact that over the past 50 years the society has become more tolerant, the problem of racism has not been solved even in the most developed countries. In 2015, the comedy film "Krepis!" Was released on the screens. He received mostly negative reviews, despite this the creators of the film managed to touch on the problem of racial stereotypes, which the American society suffers to this day, in a comic manner. So, it is necessary to understand the pros and cons of this film, which some consider a worthy analogue of the "Big Stan".

The film "Krepis!" (2015)

The director of the picture was Ethan Cohen, known to the audience on the tapes "Soldiers of failure", "Men in Black-3" and "Idiokratiya." In addition, Ethan became one of the authors of the script "Krepis!". Actors who played the main roles - Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart.

This tape was a kind of exception to the rules: critics crushed it to the nines, but the audience liked it. Get Hard collected at the rental of just under $ 112 million, which is almost three times the budget picture.

Plot

The main character of the tape is the hedge fund manager James King. For years of honest work, he was able to make a fortune, conquered the heart of the spoiled daughter of the chief and became a partner in his company.

However, he is unexpectedly accused of fraud and is offered to admit guilt and spend a year in prison. Being innocent, James refuses to deal with the prosecutor and goes to court, hoping to receive an acquittal.

Unfortunately, all the evidence against him, and King is sentenced to 10 years in prison in the severe state prison of San Quentin.

Going to meet James, the judge gives him a thirty-day delay before the conclusion, so he brought all his affairs order. Being a reasonably intelligent person, King realizes that he is in hell with a real hell. Therefore, for the last 30 thousand dollars, he hires a black car washer Darnell Lewis, that he taught him prison wisdom.

Contrary to James King's preconceived notion that most blacks were in prison, Darnell was a law-abiding citizen and an excellent family man all his life. However, to earn money for his work, he pretends to be an experienced prisoner and teaches James the laws of the prison. In the course of their studies, a friendship is established between men, and Lewis helps King to find the real culprit of embezzlement and return his honest name.

Problems and main images

Despite the fact that in the movie "Krepis!" Actors quite often swear with mate, and most of the jokes refer to the so-called "toilet humor", this project ridicules many problems of modern American society.

In the last few years, a lot of films about slavery have been filmed and how blacks have sought freedom. Despite all this pathos, the citizens of the most democratic country in the world are still dominated by racial stereotypes. For example, a poor black guy in sports clothes in a rich area is perceived as a servant or a potential robber.

At the same time in the movie "Krepis!" There is another stereotype of the thinking of the average American worker-worker: almost any rich white-skinned financier accused of fraud is automatically considered the culprit by the public by default.

For almost 100 minutes (the timing of the picture) in a rather caustic form ridiculed racism covered with tolerance. James King himself is a walking stereotype. He is smart and a little arrogant, but absolutely not ready for a collision with real life. As a classic nouveau riche, James has a luxury home, a car of the latest model, a personal trainer and a beautiful wife. In addition, he tries to politely treat servants. However, at the sight of a black guy in a parking lot, he takes him for a robber.

As a true southerner, James unreservedly believes in the American justice system. However, becoming her victim, decides to change. Under the supervision of Darnell King learns to communicate with criminals, because of what gets into difficult situations. So one of the Mexican gangs invites him to commit murder, in exchange for protection in prison. And when confronted with skinheads, he almost dies from their hands. Despite his mind, King is not ready to believe that his father-in-law Martin, to whom all the evidence indicates, substituted him.

Black king mentor Darnell Lewis is an anti-stereotype. He has an excellent family, he did not sit and, although he has no education, dreams of opening his own car wash.

Living in a troubled area, Lewis did not participate in any gang and continues to be a law-abiding citizen. His trouble is that he is a black man from a bad area, so the residents of respectable areas immediately perceive him as a criminal.

Film "Krepis!": Actors and roles

Potentially, the yawn of James King, who was nicknamed Mayonnais for color, was played by the famous comedy actor B Will Ferrell. It is worth noting that the role of a little bit of a cowardly and naive financier was a success for Will. His character is completely different from the selfish skater Chuzza Michael Michaels from the picture "Blades of Glory: Starlets on Ice" or villain couturier Jacobim Mugat of "Model Male 1.2".

Ferrel's partner was a black comedian Kevin Hart, known for his participation in several films of the series "Very Scary Movie" and similar projects ("Very Epic Cinema" and "Extreme Cinema").

Spouse Darnell Lewis played Edwin Findlay ("Law and Order", "Brothers and Sisters"), and the charming daughter - a young Ariana Neal ("Inexact Lady", "Nicky").

The villain, who substituted the main character, was performed by Craig T. Nelson, with whom Will Ferrell worked before the project "Krepis!". The actors starred together in the movie "Blades of Glory: The Stars on Ice", however, then Craig got the role of the desperate coach Chazz.

The actors Greg German (Lodiri, Hunt for Work), Paul Ben-Victor (Daredevil, Medicaid of Chicago), Katya Gomez (The Price of Passion, The Man Like hot cakes ") and others.
