Glee: plot, characters and actors. "Choir": all the most interesting about the show with elements of the musical

In 2009, a new television series with elements of comedy, drama and musical appeared on the screens. Its key feature was that the roles in it were played by professional singers and dancers, and part-time actors. "Choir" is known in Russia even under the name "Luzers", and its original name is Glee. The series was nominated for 19 Emmy awards, four Golden Globes, six Satellite Awards and another 57 nominations. And this is an occasion to talk about it in more detail.

Plot

The series begins with an acquaintance with Will Shuster - a teacher of Spanish, working in high school William McKinley. In his youth, he studied in it. In the good old days, there was a choir in the school with which Will had the best memories. He was at the height of glory - the support team, the cheerleading team. And Will decides to resurrect the choir.

The series, the actors to which are chosen just perfectly, is fastened precisely at this moment. At the time of recruitment to the vocal team of the audience, the viewer also gets to know the main characters. Subsequently, the plot is built on an intriguing, exciting intertwining of their own lines. Here there is a question of relations, first love, inequality, family difficulties, friendship. Heroes for the first time face injustice, competition, the need to deal with everyday difficulties. They learn about grief, joy, feel the sweetness of victory and the pain of defeat. And with them the viewer experiences all this.

Lea Michel

As already mentioned, the actors were very well selected for all the roles in the series. "Chorus" has a solid musical component in the plot. For 6 seasons, over 300 original and cover songs were performed. And most often the vocal data of the spectator pleases Leah Michel, who played in the series Rachel Berry. This is a girl with huge ambitions, dreams of a career on Broadway and a crown of incredible size on her head. Nevertheless, she is an outcast in the school. In general, Rachel is a positive and kind character, but her arrogant behavior and willingness to go head first for a career (even if it's the heads of her friends) can be annoying.

Leah Michelle herself says that for the qualitative embodiment of the image of the heroine, she drew inspiration from her biography. The singer assures - in her youth she did not enjoy popularity and also experienced complexes.

Cory Monteith

About him, too, can not fail to mention, talking about the contribution that the actors made to the series. Chorus, like any other team, needs a leader. And if among the girls it was Rachel, then among the guys they became Finn Hudson, played by Cory Monteith - a Canadian musician. In the series, his character with Berry had a relationship (not immediately, of course). What is remarkable - in real life Corey, who played Finn, met with Lia Michel, who acted as Rachel.

Unfortunately, in 2013, on July 13, the actor was found dead in the Vancouver hotel Pacific Rim Hotel. Cory had teenage problems with drugs. He was treated, he wanted to get rid of addiction, and it seemed he gave up forever. But the autopsy revealed that the cause of his death was an overdose of heroin, aggravated by the effects of alcohol.

Corey was a talented actor and musician - he played excellent guitar and sang. After his death, the production of the series continued. The film did not beat the reason for what happened - and it can be understood. In the series, Kurt Hammel, Finn's half brother, said a phrase that explained everything: "It's interesting for many to know how he died. But I think it's better to talk about how he lived. " And this series really turned out to be very hard and sincere.

Male makeup

Naturally, these are not all actors. The choir consisted of several people at first. It included Kurt Hammel, played by Chris Colfer with an amazing counter-tenor. Perhaps, the most kind character from the series, which for a long time endured resentment and mockery because of its orientation. Later, by the way, he became a half brother of Finn Hudson, since their single parents were married.

And other characters can please the audience "Choir". The series actors did much more beautifully - if someone else were selected for the role, everything would look different. The show was attended by dancer Harry Sham, Jr., who did not know how to sing the member of the chorus of Mike Chang. A football player, a friend of Finn and a member of the choir Noah Packerman, was played by Mark Sulling. To be called to audition, he sent his videos to a hundred agents. And he auditioned 5 times - even to the main role of Finn Hudson. Mark is a talented musician, however, in 2015 he was arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography.

In the series, there was a hero named Artie Abrams, played by Kevin McHale. All six seasons the actor stayed in a wheelchair, as his character was paralyzed below the belt. And, as Kevin himself said, it was damn difficult. After all, he had to sit in the chair and restrain the desire to rush into the dance while others fully participated in the rooms.

Female structure

The role of the arrogant cheerleader and choir member Quinn Fabre was perfectly performed by Dianna Agron, an actress and singer from Georgia of Russian-Jewish descent. At first it appears as a negative character, but in the end turns out to be a very kind and sincere person. The heroine of Dianna is crucified - the actress told that for her it was a novelty. The singer shares: the fact that her character on the story "rolled off" from the peak of popularity to the bottom, a little annoyed her Jewish friends. After all, Quinn was the president of the club of chastity, and then became pregnant, and even changed her young man, at 15 years old.

In the series, there was an outrageous heroine, Mercedes Jones, played by Ember Patrice Riley. Surprisingly, the girl did not pass the casting in American Idol, although her voice is amazing. The singer-dancer Heather Morris played the role of the stupid Brittany S. Pierce, and Naya Rivera played Santana Lopez - a bitchy person, inside of which, as it turned out, hides a sensitive soul. And the last major female character is Tina Cohen-Chang. Her role was played by Jenna Noel Ashkovitz, a singer and writer whose acting career began at the age of 3 with the Sesame Street program.

We must admit that the series "Choir" was very interesting, exciting and unusual. Actors and roles are chosen perfectly. About the composition, you can tell a lot - several dozens of people took part in the show. But it's better to take time to watch and get live impressions.
