Rachel Berry: The character of the series "Choir"

A fictional character, the main character of the musical series "Choir", played by Leah Michel. Who is Rachel Berry, and which way did she go from 1 to 6 of the show season?

What is the series about?

"Choir" (or "Luzers") is a musical series that was published from 2009 to 2014 and gained mass popularity due to the high level of not only the acting but also the vocal abilities of the main characters. According to the story, a Spanish teacher creates a school chorus "New Directions" - but not the same as used to see in Russian schools, when the girls sing "Come to the shore of Katyusha" in a row, but a vocal-instrumental and dance ensemble that creates covers with interesting performances on famous songs. For 6 seasons, the characters sang Lady Gaga, Queen, Britney Spears, The Beatles and many other performers, and the compositions themselves were widely distributed and highly appreciated by critics.

The character of Leah Michelle

Rachel Berry is one of the main characters of the show. But given the ambitious character, it can be called even the most important heroine. Rachel was played by an American actress and singer Leah Michel.

As already mentioned, Rachel is very ambitious, sometimes even too much. In the first seasons, this ambitiousness and self-confidence blocked all the positive aspects of the character. From the earliest childhood, the heroine dreamed of becoming a star and was confident in her own talents (which she really does have), recorded her speeches on video and laid out in social networks.

A family

Rachel has two fathers who love and support her in all endeavors. In one of the seasons the heroine meets her biological mother and begins to communicate with her.

Relations with others

Rachel Berry (actress Leah Michelle, incidentally, is completely different from her character in nature, she is a much softer person) was conceived by the creators of the show as a school-based outcast because of her dreams and ambitions. In the first season, the support group mocks over her performances and even in the choir, where her talents are recognized, because of her character is not very fond of. Instead of changing, Rachel even more nose and sucks hysteria. At least at first.

The main rival of Rachel Berry (in the series is not much accented on this, but shows hints) in the chorus - Kurt Hammel. They both are fighting for the place of the soloist. Kurt, with a high voice, often puts forward his candidacy for women's parties, which almost always goes to Rachel. Nevertheless, in the end, like all the others in the "New Directions", they become friends.

Ambitions

Talented singer and actress Rachel Berry dreams of performing on Broadway, like her idol - Barbra Streisand. She aspires to enter NYADI and become a star and does everything necessary for this. In the first seasons, she even agrees to go over her head.

Rachel was a soloist of the school choir even before the creation of the "New Directions", until its disbandment. Listening to the new chorus Rachel went without problems, but she did not expect to encounter other talented guys - Berry is sure that she is not more talented on Earth (except perhaps Barbra Streisand). Throughout the seasons, Rachel changes, learns to recognize his mistakes, understands that talent is not everything, acquires friends and love. It can not be said that Rachel will all be given easily (life puts its own barriers), however (with a spoiler!) She will achieve her.

Personal life

In the first season, Rachel Berry is in love with Finn Hudson - the most popular guy in the school. When he enters the choir, they begin to communicate more. Rachel follows Kurt Hammel's advice to attract Finn. But Kurt specifically gives her bad advice - in fact he feels sympathy for a handsome football player. Nevertheless, having passed through all obstacles, Rachel and Finn open their hearts to each other. In many ways, also because Berry begins to learn to understand and accept other people, and Finn ceases to be afraid not to do what is expected of him.

Appearance

Appearance Rachel Berry is changing along with her character. In the first season, she was a rather ugly duckling who did not find her strengths and her own style. At the time, it does not bother her very much, in trying to attract Finn, she keeps making mistakes, and the rest of the time looks pretty infantile.

Already in the second season, Rachel begins to grow up little by little. The tendency to growing up was preserved in the third and fourth seasons of the series. The real transformation of Rachel Berry we see in the last parts of the show is a strong, talented, confident stylish woman.
