Armchair-bag: pattern. Armchair-bag: the instruction on tailoring

Frameless armchairs are fashionable and comfortable furniture. They are especially in demand in the children's room. After all, this chair is safe, comfortable, convenient and easy to adjust to any shape of the body. Not surprisingly, such furniture fell to the taste and the adult population. The stores offer a wide selection of different seat-bags. But it is much more fun and cheaper to sew such furniture yourself. In this you will help a pattern. It is quite easy to make a chair-sack by yourself. The main thing is to make a little effort.

What is a bag chair?

It is also called bin-bag. The chair-bag is an amazing piece of furniture, frameless construction. It has a practically unique property. This furniture is able to take any form. It can perform the functions of a bed, a chair, an ordinary chair.

Frameless furniture is made in the most bizarre and unusual forms. Below we will consider the 3 most common options. To make them easier to sew, will be a pattern. The armchair-bag can take the form of a pear, a drop and even a soccer ball.

Material selection

For tailoring the product you will need 2 types of fabric. After all, the seat-bag consists of an internal and external cover. Before choosing a material, decide on the model. Because for each variety has its own pattern. It is better to sew a sack-chair out of one piece of fabric. That's why initially choose a model and calculate the required amount of material.

For the inner case it is recommended to choose a very strong fabric and inexpensive. The filler will fill it up.

You can use the following materials:

  • Satin;
  • Tisi (this fabric is used for making work clothes);
  • Raincoat or mattress textile;
  • Polyester material (it is durable and does not let water pass).

How much tissue will be required on average? For example, you chose a pear-shaped chair. The arm-bag in its finished form will have such dimensions: diameter - 90 cm, height - 120 cm. This design requires about 2.5 m of cloth, the width of which is 115-122 cm.

For the outer cover, choose a fabric that harmoniously fits into your interior. Most often use the following materials:

  • Flock;
  • Shenyl;
  • Artificial suede;
  • velours;
  • jacquard;
  • Artificial fur or leather;
  • tapestry.

Features of cut

Your soft chair-bag will last for many years. That's why the selection of upholstery fabrics should be approached very carefully. In addition, it should be possible to remove the upper cover for washing. For this, when sewing, be sure to sew a zipper.

If the fabric selected for the upper cover does not allow air to pass through, a special air valve must be provided. Otherwise, the chair can easily tear.

Filler products

This is another important point that should be resolved before sewing a bag chair. After all, the feature of the product lies precisely in the filler, which allows the frameless model to take any forms.

So, what should be inside the chair? The best filler is foamed polystyrene. This material has a long service life, does not die, and does not cause allergies.

Tools and materials

Regardless of the model you will need:

  1. Graph paper. It is necessary for creating a pattern.
  2. Cloth for inner and outer cover.
  3. Lightning - 2 pcs.
  4. Pencil, ruler, chalk, scissors.
  5. Reinforced yarn.
  6. Filler - for one chair you need about 300 liters of filler. This volume weighs 1.5 kg (so do not buy 10 kg packages of expanded polystyrene).
  7. Sewing machine.

Armchair-bag: "pear"

This model is very popular.

Will help sew such a chair-bag master class:

  1. Below is the pattern of the product. It must be transferred, according to the dimensions of the millimeter paper. If necessary (if the chair is sewn for the child), you can proportionally reduce the pattern.
  2. According to the prepared patterns, we cut out the material. On the allowances should be left at 1.5 cm. You must have 6 wedges of the main part, 2 - bottom, 1 - upper part. For the outer cover, all the parts are ready.
  3. Repeat the procedure on the fabric selected for the inner cover.
  4. The parts must be swept away. At this stage, you should consider the placement of lightning. It is recommended to sweep it into the bottom of the product. So it will not spoil the look of the model. Lightning should be on both cases. This will allow not only to wash the upholstery in time, but also to add filler if necessary.
  5. Now we sew the parts with reinforced threads using a sewing machine. All bumps should be deleted. To give the product strength, it is necessary to lay two lines. The edges are best handled by an overlock.
  6. Now fill the inner bag with filler. This procedure is best done without children and animals. Polystyrene beads can easily be electrified and can be scattered throughout the room. They are very dangerous when you get into the respiratory system! If the balls all the same scattered, collect them with a vacuum cleaner. But to avoid this it is recommended to fill the filler through a watering can, a paper funnel or a plastic bottle with a cut off bottom.
  7. Do not fill the bag "under the string." Remember that the beauty of this design is that it perfectly adapts to the shape of the body. Therefore filler should be filled in 2/3.
  8. Put on the top bag. Close the zipper. Soft chair-bag is ready. You can enjoy your work.

Armchair-bag: "ball"

Such a model can not leave indifferent any young football player. But you have to work with such a product. It's slightly harder to sew than the "pear" model described above.

So, the seat-bag "ball" is made in the following way:

  1. The model uses a completely different pattern. You can use the below, or build it yourself. The pattern is a regular polygon. For a classic product - it's a six- and a pentagon.
  2. When cutting on fabric, it should be borne in mind that there must be a lot of such details. The pentagons should be cut out - 12 pcs. And hexagons need 20 pcs. It is very important to cut and cut out the details. Even the slightest deviation can lead to skewing of the model.
  3. Before proceeding with the assembly of the product, it is recommended that all parts be treated with an overlock. It is even better to make sections with edge. Of course, it will take a lot of time, but such details will not crumble exactly.
  4. Now you need to sweep the product. Difficulties can arise with lightning. After all, the clasp just does not fit in one face. Therefore, the lightning should be placed along the curve.

How to sew a chair-bag and fill it with a filler you already know. Therefore, this procedure should not cause difficulties.

Armchair-bag: "drop"

This is another type of frameless furniture that may interest you.

The pattern below is transferred to millimeter paper. The chair-bag "drop" is made as follows:

  1. The pattern below is transferred to millimeter paper.
  2. When laying out the details on the fabric, be sure to consider the share thread. This will protect the model from distortion. On one case it is necessary: 2 sidewalls, 1 bottom, 1 top.
  3. Now sweep away the details. Mark the lightning.
  4. Process the slices and stitch along the outline.
  5. Fill the filler. Zip up the zippers.

You got a wonderful bag chair. And most importantly - exclusive and inexpensive.
