Ksenia Bashtova: "The Dark Prince" and all-all-all

Ksenia Bashtova is the author of humorous and love fantasy, stories and poems. Her works can be attributed to this type of literature, as "light reading." Bashtov's books are not shocking or inspiring, but they have a good rest in their company from their daily duties, and they help to relieve tension.

Biographical information

Ksenia Bashtova was born on June 3, 1985. She was born in Rostov-on-Don. Higher education: Law Faculty of the Russian State Economic University, issue of 2006. Since 2007, she has been working as a lawyer, first in the Rostov company "Business and Law", since 2016 she has been working at the Rostov Regional Bar Association "Bashtovaia and Partners". Since 2013, the Union of Writers of Russia.

The desire to write to Xenia Bashtova appeared against the backdrop of a huge love for books and the reading process. Since four years she has been drinking heavily with various kinds of products - children's literature, novels, poems, of course, fantasy and fantasy. And later she began to write herself - poems and prose, there was even an attempt to finish the "Chronicles of Amber." Since the age of 16, Ksenia Bashtova has been spreading her work on the Net, where she met Victoria Ivanova in 2005 (the latter was interested in the work of the young writer and left comments on her works). Thus, a new creative duet was born and the humorous trilogy "The Dark Prince", which was first published in separate parts, and in 2012 - in one volume.

In total, Bashtovo published 16 books (four of them - the cycle "The Dark Prince"), there are several publications in the journal "New House".

Ksenia Bashtova: "The Dark Prince"

The book is about the son of the Dark Lord, who decides to flee from home and enter an academy where they teach magic. He runs away simply because he is bored at home, his two elder brothers and sister consider him to be a toddler, and his parents do not hurry to recognize his adult self-identity. So Diran decides to escape, and in order not to get lost, he takes with him the company of "light" people and nonhumans caught on an attempt to steal an artifact.

Next, funny adventures begin according to the scheme: road troubles, prejudice against the "dark ones", which are very decent people (and nonhumans), secrets, the villainous puppeteer, an attempt to ditch the world, save the world. The second and third parts are the same characters, but in the process of studying, and then in the context of the global war.

In general, the trilogy has turned out remarkable and it is read in one breath.

Victoria Ivanova has independent works - a cycle of two novels "Rainbow on the Earth".

Ksenia Bashtova is a wonderful author of humorous fantasy, and her duet with Viktoria Ivanova turned out to be overproductive. The "Dark Prince" trilogy is exactly what readers expect from books of this genre: there are a lot of dynamics, a bunch of characters of different races, several storylines and good humor. And there are few where you can meet such charming criminals, as in the "Bubnova guild", and the whole world in this work is wonderful.

From the minuses of the works can be called several "ragged" narrative: the plot sometimes jumps in different time intervals and from the character to the character. Also, the disadvantages often include the abundance of races, with virtually no description of their characteristics and lifestyle. So, in one book are going to elves, people, werewolves, dark nobles, mages light and dark, dryads and a bunch of different individuals with their distinctive features. There are general roughnesses in style and a sagging plot.

Despite minor shortcomings, Bashtov's books within the declared genre are somewhere in the top lines of the ratings. This is not a masterpiece of world literature and not a classic of modern literature, but it is a reading that will help you relax and rest.
