Adjustment of plastic doors

Along with plastic windows, doors made of the same material become very popular. Most often they are installed on the balcony. After all, these doors do not have such requirements as for entrance doors, they do not require a special fortress. At the same time, they are practical, convenient, hermetically sealed and contribute to better thermal insulation. But, as in the case with windows, due to shrinkage, the influence of environmental conditions, plastic doors need to be adjusted, it is not difficult to solve the problem independently, it is only necessary to adhere to practical advice collected in the material.

If the need to adjust the door mechanism has arisen before the expiration of the warranty period, then you should contact the manufacturers or sellers of the goods that issued the warranty. When this term expires, you can deal with the problem on your own.

By design, the doors may differ depending on the manufacturer. As with any repair process, adjusting the plastic doors requires tools. Fit and flat screwdrivers of different sizes (from two to five millimeters), hex keys and pliers are also suitable. First you need to check the reliability of the mount. The door is fastened, as a rule, in four or five points, which are on different sides. To adjust the stroke, adjust the screws in the door hinges. If the doors are standard, then they have three loops, which means - nine screws. To get to them, you need to remove the protective covers. They are installed as a decoration. The door should be opened wide, then unscrew the screw that is on the back of the hinge. To do this, you need a 6-faceted key for three millimeters. Then you can close the door and remove the covers.

When adjusting the plastic doors horizontally, it is carried out using a long horizontal screw. In order to raise the edge from the opposite side, it is necessary to tighten the screws in the upper two loops. If you adjust all three hinges, the door leaf can be moved left or right. To raise the door, you need to correct a separate screw, which is located at each loop at the bottom. For all these operations, the key is five millimeters. The door main locking bar, which is located in the middle, can be adjusted using a Phillips screwdriver.

When adjusting the plastic doors, or more precisely, the counter strips located on the top and bottom, then use a hexagonal wrench size of two and a half millimeters. To raise the door, it is necessary to adjust the lower loop, for which you need to insert the hex key into the groove located on the lower loop and rotate the tool clockwise. During rotation, the door is raised.

Sometimes, it is necessary to adjust the plastic balcony doors, if they have bad pressure. To correct this defect, you can use the response bar on the profile. If there is a groove under the 6-key key on the counter plate, it is inserted, then rotated half a turn. Provided that the design of the doors is different, the adjustment is carried out using a trunnion on the fittings. They are turned by pliers, and it is necessary to follow the position of the trunnion. If it is parallel to the profile, then the door press will be minimal, and at its perpendicular position - the maximum.
