John Noble - a popular Australian actor, as well as a director of more than 80 theatrical productions. Novel's fame brought the role of Dr. Walter Bishop in the science fiction television series "The Face", as well as the role of Henry Parrish in the mystical series "Sleepy Hollow." The beginning of acting career

In the feature film, John Noble first appeared in 1988, performing a small role in the Australian horror "Vision". The next 10 years, the actor played mainly in low-budget scenes that were not widely known outside of Australia.

The first truly successful film in the career of Noble was the detective "The Monkey Mask", based on the novel by Dorothy Porter. The actor played Mr. Norris, the father of a brutally murdered student. The film was released in 2000 and brought fame to the then novice actor John Noble.

In 2002, Noble received, perhaps, the most important role in his career - Denenter in the film "The Lord of the Rings: Two Fortresses". In this part of his character can be seen only in the director's version. However, already in the next film of the franchise, "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King", the character of Noble is given much more screen time. It was for this role that he was awarded several prestigious awards, including the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

In 2004, after finishing work on the "Lord of the Rings" franchise, the actor tried himself in a new genre, playing in the historical drama One Night with the King. The literary source of the picture was the novel "Hadassah: One Night with the King," based in part on the biblical Book of Esther. Critics appreciated the visual component of the film, but they called the script "disappointment" because of its tightness and lack of dynamics. The picture failed at the box office, collecting only 13 million dollars around the world.

Among the films of John Noble is the militant "Run without care", in which he played along with such stars as Paul Walker, Vera Farmiga, Cameron Bright. Despite the mixed reviews of critics, the picture has gained some popularity and is considered one of the best projects of director Wayne Kramer.

Works on TV

The most important television project in the career of Noble was the science fiction TV series "The Face". The actor worked on it for more than five years, regularly appearing as Walter Bishop in every episode of the series. It was for the role of Dr. Bishop that he was awarded the Saturn Award as the best television actor.

John Noble also played Dr. John Madsen in the popular medical drama "All Saints".

In 2013, the actor was confirmed for the role of Henry Parish, son of Ichabod and Katrina Crane. He is one of the main characters of this intricate mystical horror. The series is a modern interpretation of the story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving, written back in the early XIX century. The series was warmly received by both critics and spectators. It was filmed four seasons, the final episode was released in March 2017.

In 2015, Noble received a supporting role in the American detective series "Elementary." John Noble played Morland Holmes, the father of Sherlock Holmes, in 13 episodes of the project.
