A Master is six long years of study or a way to a director's chair?

Since 2011, all higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation have moved to a two-tier system, which has long been practiced in Western countries. This is due to the accession of our country to the Bologna process, whose goal is to improve the quality of education and its accessibility.

In connection with this innovation, not only the duration of training has increased, but also the number of questions. Employers can not get used to the fact that a bachelor's degree is a full-fledged higher education, and a master is not a graduate with two higher degrees, but only a student who wants to deepen his previous knowledge.

In 1996, such a system of training was already practiced, but then it was viewed as a single and inextricable process.

At the moment, Russian education has 3 stages of higher professional education :

- Bachelor's degree;

- certified specialist;

- master.

The Bachelor's Degree is a four-year course. At the end of this period, the student must decide what he will develop further. If the student does not have the opportunity or the desire to continue his education, then it is necessary to stop at the bachelor's degree, and if there is a desire to devote himself to teaching or science, then he has a direct path to the magistracy. The educational program there is designed for two years, after which it is necessary to pass the final certification, to protect the final project and - voila, before us the master. This means that he was awarded the highest degree of professional education. Such graduates have the opportunity to master the profiled material and spend more time on the practical side of the specialty.

The main goal of the magistracy in its modern sense is the training of managerial staff, that is, the proud title of "master" is a passing ticket to the municipality. In addition, the master is open to major Russian and foreign companies.

Just imagine how many perspectives there is in one simple word "master"! Education, received over six years of training, among other things, will be sufficient for scientific and practical activities and teaching.

Another fundamental difference between bachelors and specialists from graduates of the magistracy is the fact that the former are taught basic occupations, while the latter receive the knowledge necessary to solve more complex problems, for example, master the specializations of an atomic engineer and a TV journalist.

The next question that worries the Russians: "Can I get a red diploma of a master 's degree if the bachelor's degree is finished with" blue "?"

On this account, disputes lasted for a long time, and in 2012 the Ministry of Education and Science issued a document that resolved this situation. Now the "three" bachelor's degree is not an obstacle, since the master's program was recognized as an independent educational program. Despite this, the bachelor's degree is still a prerequisite for admission to the magistracy.

And in conclusion I want to note: according to the research, masters are more in demand than specialists having several higher educations. This is not surprising, because the master is not a theorist, but a practitioner with fundamental knowledge and necessary skills.
