A blossoming vine in your garden

The flowering liana is able to completely transform the appearance of your garden plot, wrapping a wall, a fence or part of the house (for example, a terrace or an attic). Decorative perennial creeping plants, we consider in this article.

Kampsis - a melliferous blooming liana

This magnificent plant is impressive not only with abundant flowering, which lasts for more than half of the summer, but also with beautiful bright foliage (each leaf is complex and consists of 9-13 small ones). Dome-shaped flowers (they come in all shades of red, orange, raspberry), the abundance of which will amaze you this flowering vine, gather in the inflorescences, which, in turn, are crowned by long graceful shoots. For one summer, the branches of the campsis are able to grow 2 m. To have fruits, cross pollination is necessary. About the mellifluousness of the campsis should be said separately - because of the seductive aroma on which hordes of bees and other insects fly together, it is not recommended that this flowering liana grow near the windows of houses. If by carelessness you already planted it there, take care of the availability of reliable mosquito nets. Observe the simple rules when caressing kampsis:

  1. Do not overmoist the roots of this plant. And even better - in advance, find out how high the ground water is on your site . This will need to be taken into account when watering.
  2. Protect the campsis from the wind, provide it with good lighting.
  3. Take care of the fertility of the soil (kampsis is unpretentious, but the excess of nutrients in the soil this plant will perceive as a signal for a more lush and prolonged flowering).
  4. At the end of winter, trim the old faded shoots. At the same time, you can take care of giving the desired species a plant.

Kampsis is a pearl of vertical gardening. Also, it is sometimes grown as small trees (low-molded form). If you plant several varieties with flowers of different shades next to them - the decorative effect will be simply amazing.

Hoya, or waxy ivy

It is impossible to list the flowering creepers for the dacha and not to mention the hoyu. Its creeping stems can reach 6 m in length. In addition, few perennial blooming lianas have such a growth rate: in the spring hoyi shoots grow by a meter a week! Dark green glossy leaves are covered with whitish wax-like waxes - this feature also contributed to the fact that the plant was called a wax ivy. Fragrant flowers, pinkish in the middle, are collected in umbellate inflorescences. The older the plant becomes, the more magnificent and abundant it blooms. Hoye needs a support. As such, a tree, a gazebo or an arch will do. In the cold regions of Russia, unfortunately, hoya can only grow in a greenhouse or a greenhouse, because the liana is thermophilic. In the middle band, flowering will be meager. Watering hoyu should be abundant, and in autumn - only a few days after the soil becomes dry. Remember, the leaves of this plant can provoke skin irritation, and the scent of its flowers is a headache! It is convenient to propagate hoyu by stems and by cuttings.
