Why do women live longer than men?

There are many different jokes about why women live longer than men. For example, because the lady will not agree to die with the idea that she will change her choice after death, or not having watched until the end of the series (and they have a lot of it). There are, of course, other assumptions, but all of them are not serious. But really, why do women live longer than men?

There are several reasons for this. Starting with physiology, it is worth saying that the matter is in hormones. It has long been proven by scientists that estrogen, which is the main female hormone, lowers the content of "bad" cholesterol in the blood. In this regard, a 40-year-old female blood vessels look about the same as a 30-year-old man. That is why diseases of the cardiovascular system do not represent such a threat for women, in men they happen much more often. In addition, testosterone (male sex hormone) is responsible for the aggressiveness of a person, which leads to a large number of accidents among men, shortening their lives. Thus, only at the level of hormones the body of a woman is programmed for a longer life.

Another reason why women live longer than men is their caution. They act as carriers of a conservative hereditary principle, and therefore carefully think and weigh all their actions. They are more circumspect, better perform the rules and are practically not risk-averse. As a direct result, less traumatism of women appears. This affects not only the genetic predisposition, but also upbringing, because It is boys who are taught to be strong brave and brave, and girls - careful and diligent.

Health care also plays a significant role in why women live longer than men. Ladies visit doctors more often. Some men do not "drive" to the polyclinic at all. They do not want and do not like to look weak. Others are not at all accustomed to "treat" all ailments with alcohol, which only exacerbates the disease. In connection with this, the same diseases women suffer about 12 years later than men, and they resist them much more actively (that is, the expected life expectancy of the sick men is on average 3 years more than in women).

The woman is more emotional. She does not hold back negativity, frustration and discontent, but "splashes out" all of this as complaints and tears. It is interesting to know that with tears from the body come such harmful substances as prolactin and leucine-enkephalin, having a harmful effect. Since men do not get rid of bad emotions (at least with the help of tears), they often accumulate irritation, growing into illnesses associated with the nervous system, depression, and sometimes there is a desire for suicide.

The shorter life expectancy of men in Russia is also due to bad habits. Representatives of the stronger sex are much more often and more addicted to drinking, smoking and an uneven rhythm of life. Drunkenness is often the cause of fatal accidents, and also contributes to the development of liver cirrhosis. Smoking fairly "shakes" the nervous system, leading to lung cancer. The uneven rhythm of life is expressed in contrast between daytime activity (at work) and evening passivity (on the couch in front of the TV), which is clearly not conducive to health.

The constant responsibility of men (for work, for family, etc.) exhausts the general state of the organism, contributes to constant headaches and on this basis to the development of other diseases. It was revealed that the life expectancy of managers is significantly lower than that of subordinates, despite better working conditions (from a physical point of view) and a good financial position.
