Salad of melon and chicken

  • Rinse melons thoroughly and cut off the top layer from the crust (no more than two millimeters). For this purpose, you can use the vegetable cutter.
  • After that, cut the melons into several parts and remove the pulp to a hard layer (this time we will not need it).
  • Cut the crust into small pieces, and then put them in a pot of water and two tablespoons of lemon juice. Blanch them there for a few minutes.
  • Throw the pieces of melon in a colander, rinse under cool water and dry.
  • From 750 grams of sugar and half a liter of water, boil the sweet syrup, and then pour in prepared crusts. Cook the candied fruit on low heat for ten minutes, and then let them brew for 10 hours.
  • The last procedure is repeated two more times, and the last time add two tablespoons of lemon juice.
  • Pour the mixture into a colander and let excess liquid drain for an hour.
  • Place the crusts in a strainer and place in a preheated oven for one hour.

Sprinkle the candied fruit from the melon with sugar and leave to lie at room temperature for two or three days. After that place the sweets in a container and store them under the closed lid.

Jam from melon

What can you make from a melon for the winter? Of course, a variety of sweets, jams and jams. To make a simple jam from a melon, you will need:

  • Peel one large melon from the skin and seeds, and then cut its flesh into small cubes.
  • Pour in a pot of water, boil it. Put cooked melon for five minutes.
  • Pull the pieces into a colander and drain excess liquid.
  • From water and sugar, boil the syrup (for one kilogram of melon - one kilogram of sugar) and send pieces to it.
  • Jam should be cooked three times for ten minutes, taking breaks for 10 hours and adding a sweet syrup if necessary.

During cooking, do not forget to remove the foam and stir the contents of the pan.

Lemon and melon jam

  • Flesh of a melon cut into small pieces, not forgetting to carefully remove all the bones and skin.
  • Fill the prepared pulp with sugar and leave it alone for one night (at least 10 hours).
  • In the morning, put the melon in a saucepan and put it on the fire.
  • One lemon carefully rinse and cut into thin plates. The second lemon is squeezed into the pan in which the melon was boiled.
  • When the jam is boiling, reduce heat to a minimum and cook for about an hour.
  • After that, remove the dishes from the cooker and allow the contents to cool.

Prepared jam from a melon spread on sterilized jars and cover them with lids.

Juice
