Childhood

Vladimir Suteev (5.07.1903 - 10.03.1993) was born in Moscow. Grigory Osipovich Suteev, his father, was a doctor and also a versatile person. He was fond of art, sang at concerts in the Noble Assembly, painted, read to his sons Dickens and Gogol. From "Viya" remained the most terrible memories. And the first book, read independently, was "The Mysterious Island" by Jules Verne. The brothers Volodya and Slava drew and resorted to their father with their drawings and waited impatiently for what a strict assessor would put it to them.

Adolescence

Vladimir Suteev started his studies at the male gymnasium No. 11, but graduated from the school. Since 1917, he has already begun to earn a little money, making drawings for exhibitions and sports diplomas. He was a hospital attendant, taught physical education and studied at the same time. Vladimir graduated from the school. Bauman, but realized that technology is not his vocation.

Cinema

Suteev continued his education in the technical school of cinematography, which he graduated in 25 years. Animation only then made its first steps, and at its origins a young artist rose up. He was included in the group that created the first cartoon "China in the Fire". Next was the sound film "Street across." War

On June 22, "Mukha-Tsokotukha" was completed, and on the 24th Vladimir Suteev went to the front. The artist was 37 years old, and he was married. He went through the whole war. Sometimes he was recalled for the creation of educational films at the studio "Voentehfilm". And his wife left, as soon as the war ended and Suteeva was demobilized. They had no children.

Family life

And in 1947 he met the only woman in Soyuzmultfilm, the feeling he would carry through the years. Her name was Tatyana Taranovich.
